Give, or sell, shares? I am just wondering if you consider YC involvement so valuable that you would actually hand over shares just to have them on board in a venture.

I always record calls that include word-of-mouth contracts, from negotiating auto repairs to canceling paid subscriptions. I have never had to use one of these recordings, not even in case of disputes, but I have always felt comfortable tha

Everything about it is cool, but you still look like a huge dork running on it. (Except, possibly, if you are doing back flips or jumping a car).

It implements the unmarshalling of incoming AJAX requests on the backend. The application developer takes over from there. There is GWT code running on both the server and the client. That was what I meant in my comment.

It is both, as it is both a front-end development platform including a full set of widgets and an AJAX implementation that handles all the plumbing of exposing and invoking AJAX services. It doesn't tell you how to implement the back-end ap

Strange that he would have a heart attack at the age of 50, particularly considering that he cared obsessively about his health and was usually at peak physical performance for his shows. There must be more to this story.

The Zen alarm clock was popular a while back. It basically wakes you up with a series of gradually more frequent chimes. It's good-looking too: http://www.now-zen.com/cgi-bin/orders/shop.pl?ACTION=ENTER+S... !

The piece on AutoblogGreen was a somewhat different (and more neutral) account. In case you missed it: http://www.autobloggreen.com/2008/06/23/autobloggreen-qanda-... I have an impression of Elon Musk as a self-aggrandizing money guy, but

For a look at what we have done with GWT, check out TeamPostgreSQL ( http://www.teampostgresql.com ). It is a fairly complex web application both in terms of UI and functionality, developed and maintained by essentially one guy, which IMHO

Rightly or wrongly, the impression people get from a a 40+ programmer is that it is odd for him to still be doing this job and subconsciously he comes across as unsuccessful because he hasn't 'moved up the ladder'. I think this is the major

If you look hard enough you can still get the plain, generic pieces. They're just more difficult to find between all the flashy sets and branded stuff. I too prefer the open-ended play that results from the generic pieces so those are the o

I was referring to the "try again in 30 seconds". When your service is failing, maybe it's not the best time to invite users to pummel it with requests. I think a generic "try again later" would work better.
