At 31, I completely cut sucrose, lactose and almost all carbohydrates out of my life. Took someone telling me to think of carbohydrates like heroin before I realized that the strong desire I have not to become painted as a drug addict could

My burb school rules are that they’ll only bus you if you are outside of 4 miles of the school as the crow flies. Even if there’s no possible way to walk there, my kids are stuck and I have no option but to drive them.

Yeah, extreme no sugar and no carb, almost pure carnivore. Haven’t had a bit of tooth decay since.

Hah I felt this same way when I discovered you can change your diet to basically completely remove all dental problems. I doubt society can possible change quickly enough for us to see the downfall of the profession.

I’m 4 years into carbohydrate recovery and strict keto. I expect to live the rest of my life this way. I have not experienced brain fog after my first few weeks of withdrawal.

I wouldn’t think of it that way! Think about the control you have now. My mother was so into sugar and had other medical issues and had all her teeth pulled and dentures by 35. I was born into an extremely high insulin environment and was m

I have a slow burn substack newsletter for the morbidly obese who are contemplating carbohydrate recovery. It’s never going to make any money and I don’t spend as much time on it as I want to but I’m glad I put it out there. https:/&#

Continual Medical Education (CMEs) are definitely during normal work days. They're also often at fancy destinations with hotels and mai tais. My father and other family have done them for years. They never had to take vacation days.

Interesting! Obviously I don't have research for this in either direction. I know a lot of people that take daily multivitamins that would still consider themselves to have "cravings".

Ah ok, so from that perspective there _could_ be someone for which heroin is not addictive. That makes sense, although I don't think that this is the definition that most people use.

I've often wondered if the word "addiction" is formally defined enough to have discussions like this from some common ground. Does anyone know? There seem to be many different definitions depending on where I google. Reading

Sorry, I don’t understand. What is the issue? I put correct in quotes because it was ineffective. I did not lose weight eating the amount of calories that the doctors calculated. Is that surprising?

Congratulations! I’ve been fruit free and almost vegetable free for 3 years and it’s been the best time of my life. I’ve lost over 200 pounds and kept it off for longer than I ever have in 3+ decades of weight loss attempts.
