Have you tried to report abuse to Cloudflare? First, their abuse reporting page has issues. The amount of data allowed to be pasted is very limited and won't allow the full content of most spam. If you paste the full amount, you can&

It's practically impossible to avoid plastic without great effort. I think even if we collectively don't do much towards that goal, each of us should think about it while we go about our daily lives. For instance, there are times

You report Google Drive links to Google, Dropbox links to Dropbox, OneDrive links to Microsoft, S3 links to Amazon, WeTransfer links to WeTransfer, MegaUpload links to MegaUpload, and Bit.ly links to Bit.ly.

You can report a link that points to content on Google Drive or Dropbox or OneDrive or S3 or WeTransfer or MegaUpload or Bit.ly. Do you think that links pointing to any of those services are in any way anonymous? It's not complicated.

You can't report it to Cloudflare in any meaningfully straightforward way and expect them to take it down. Even if you go through Cloudflare's incredibly laborious and intentionally problem riddled abuse complaint process, and eve

There are so many abuse protection companies out there that don't stigmatize non-western Internet users. Also, do we really think that Columbia's IT people are that bad? I doubt a page like this would get a substantial DDoS. Makin

Indeed. If I had bought things that were disabled, I'd pirate them with impunity.

No, it doesn't. Programs need to be designed to rely on specific servers, with specific DNS host names, checking valid TLS certificates. They can just as easily (and trivially, I should add) be designed to allow for configuration wit

Common sense makes sense! I'd love to see something like this codified in to law. We need a complete rethinking of the actual terms, "buy", "own", "sell", and so on, so people can't use those terms in

Matthew Prince is definitely not a good actor, but that's not the point. What Cloudflare did was they acted like good people, said good things, even did some good things, but once they got enough business and momentum, they then star

I can't even understand this. How does the CLI relate to events? Are you saying that all servers secretly have an invisible GUI and handle events there? This just seems like an odd non sequitur.

This looks like exactly what I wanted to find! Thank you. I had been soured by the Android platform because I bought a brand new device, mostly because it had a physical keyboard, only to find out that it wouldn't get any new updates,

What I really want (or wanted, I should say) is a native toolchain that runs on the Android device, not a cross toolchain that runs elsewhere. NDK isn't that.

I remember asking some Android devs, "How do I install a compiler on Android?" They proceeded to tell me what to download on my laptop. I repeated my question, emphasizing "ON Android". They gave me blank looks. I said,

This will come in very handy, since many providers don't natively provide NetBSD. I've played similar tricks mounting a ramdisk, copying things in to it, starting daemons from it, then force-remounting rootfs read-only, then doing

The BGW320 units are absolutely horrible. They're riddled with bugs, and there's no way to communicate with humans at AT&T who either understand the bugs or who know how to communicate with other people at AT&T to address

You're right - at least partly. If the issue is that Intel was too aggressive with voltages, they can use microcode updates as 1) an excuse to rejigger the power levels and voltages the BIOS uses as part of the update, and 2) they can

You can easily have localhost.whateverdomain.whatever for any and all domains and still use virtualhosting. Seems like a solution looking for a problem.

True, but there were wonderful exceptions. For instance, the Mac SE/30 (1989) could take up to 128 megs, and the Amiga 3000 (1990) was designed to allow for even more (although only 16 megs on the motherboard, but 256 meg Zorro III car

Or why not just use a real cert? Getting a wildcard cert is trivial, as is creating a locally resolving DNS record for your local machine. For tunneling, how is this different / better than ssh -L?

It's a nice idea, but has that worked historically? Some people will make changes, but I think we'd be naive to think that things will change in any large and meaningful way. Having another I-told-you-so isn't so bad, though

This is neat. I didn't know about that shortcoming of DNSSEC, but knowing now, I'll definitely use NSEC3. I've also naively taken it for granted that some of my machines that're only running ssh on IPv6 wouldn't be

We used to use diodes on many lines to get power from several at once to power small things. RS-232 drivers like the MC1488 had no problem providing enough power for all sorts of things, like microcontrollers and wifi bridges.

If you have a public facing Internet server, you're probably already running something like blocklistd or fail2ban. They reduce abuse, but they don't do anything to avoid an issue like this except from naive attackers. More resour
