This is not right. Work in a manner that the work you are doing can be spun off and will continue to work on its own, leaving you free to do something new that will build on top of that.

Hi HN, I'd like some criticism of my iPhone app. I'm a bit ashamed of it, and yes, it's not rocket science, but it has been in the top 100 in the lifestyle section for close to 3 months, and brings in a decent income. Check the child commen

I'm currently setting up an office in Shenzhen in china, and the programmers really are high quality, and you pay them about $400 a month. It's an excellent way to keep your costs low and grow quickly - living space is nice and cheap, for t

Working with your spouse needs a special kind of person on both sides. Most people would not succeed with this, some would. Just because you would does not mean most would.

Trust me, Django is almost dead. The hype around Django is completely dead and existing developers are using it, but new developers are not jumping on ship. In 6 years there will be a serious Django shortage of maintanance personell. Stick

Understanding a bar chart or a pie chart is something you learned at some point. It takes a while to learn to inteprete these things. Most people are not dumb. They are rather smart, but they focus their thoughts on the things they have int

That's just so...shocking. It always seemed like these type of people stay around forever to be made fun off and prodded - and then when you read about their death. It brings things into perspective - we're all just blobs of flesh, here by

That must be the most uninformed thing that I've read in my life. How is the map of electricity cables between chad and congo? Are you aware that wind power needs special sites? And you cannot just move it beside where you want it?

Wind power is only available in certain parts of the world. Distribution would be a massive problem. Thousands of miles of cables and transformers are not easy to maintain.

The interesting part about having spent years in Africa, Europe, Asia and America is that even when I learn something like this, it is mildly interesting, but does not seem to have any effect on me. I feel like I am jaded - too used to bein

This is the core problem with outsourcing that we will also face in the software industry - when groups work isolated from one another - the things they produce get difficult to integrate and arrive with very different quality. Outsourcing

I don't think the article is accurate - usually airplane seats are purchased by the airline (from another company) and not by the manufacturer - and in this size of planes, the TV is usually in the seats.

It's really not that important why your comment got up or downvoted. So don't get all worked up about it. Just smile, and go write a new comment on something else.

It is deception. If you pay to contact a person, but the person has no way of responding, then you have been deceived. You cannot even tell the person to upgrade or so, since you cannot contact the person.

It's a small and cheap laptop that runs everything people need. There is nothing strange about people wanting it. If I sold a small and cheap car that got me where I wanted, people would buy it too.
