How about this radical idea: Once in a while, a moderator marks a comment which is reasonable but contains an unpopular opinion as a 'trap'. Anyone who mods it down gets a zap of -100 karma. Will make people think about their downmoding bef

Look it up. 700 million from the US to Africa. GDP of a country like ghana is 20 billion. Look up the rest of the numbers yourself.

What the big companies are realising is this: When you get lots of small developers using your API, you have tens of thousands of people who are actively marketing your product through your API. You don't need to build up any large marketin

Don't do all nighters. They will make you lose a lot more time recovering compared to just sleeping little. If you actually need to get a lot done in a short amount of time, go to sleep, and wake up after 3 hours, then kick down some energy

I think this is the greatest thing to happen in european politics in a long time. Times have changed, and this is a strong message to the establishment that things will need to change a bit regarding some laws!

You're about to give up. What faces you in the next 6 months will be toughest period you will face in this enterprise, because you have a chicken and egg problem. The easy part is over, and now the very difficult part will come, and this is

The record industry is dead. Anyone still trying to justify downloading in that it has not affected the industry is just plain old stupid. Millions of people who would have purchased did not because the music was available for free. The sel

Without a doubt, mobile applications make sense. But the amount of time you would put into this at this fledgling stage of the business would be a big mistake - one should first focus on the web based part of things, iterate till it matches

The pricing is too low. It's a niche market, people are prepared to pay more for things that work. However, you need to offer desktop clients to upload the files, because I would believe that architects work with pretty large files - upload

Yikes, you can sell nothing and break even. No, I actually sold an app for while, then took it down. People would still buy it occassionally, even though it was clearly stated that the app was discontinued.

It's easy to sing to the choir. It's also boring and badly written. Microsoft has made a LOT of innovations. A massive amount of modern computing is based of how accessible microsoft made computing - if we still had to recompile our kernel
