I ran across this while researching a way to OCR data from a video of a frequency counter and digital multimeter. I didn't use his exact workflow, but it got me pointed in the right direction. Much better than manually typing in data e

$2 sounds really cheap--did I miss the laser on the bill of materials? Anyone else hoping for a modern and inexpensive replacement for the legendary classic EG&G microflash?

The handful of cars I've checked (after Bob Pease wrote about it) won't lock the column unless you remove the key. Some might lock, but only when the tranny is in park. Worth checking out. Do you even want/need power steering

In my case it was the paypal/larger size restriction. And to be fair to DO, once I had opened a ticket (and provided links to the company website, twitter, facebook, and reason for wanting larger droplets) they explained that adding a

I too have been bit by the droplet limit. $60 credit (but no credit card) in my account, wanted to spin up a fast box to build a kernel, but I was locked out of the larger droplets. Never did get a straight answer as to why, just a suggesti

You'd think, right? Luckily the ARM dudes came up with Thumb-2, so most (all but 6) of the Cortex-M0+ instructions are actually 16 bit, not 32. (Nice chart at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_Cortex-M .) But what&

If the code hasn't been linted, expect lots of false positives. I usually have to disable entire classes of less serious warnings to notice the errors, then slowly work through to the less serious stuff.

Back in the day, there was a windows based IDE/simulator for the PIC 8-bit microcontrollers. The simulation ran much (2-5 times?) faster if you wiggled the mouse. Someone wrote an app to send fake mouse events to the simulator window.

"restarts required once daily"? Do you mean restarting the crashed application (Chrome), or an actual daily reboot of the OS?

I still run XP and 2k. I need it to support hardware that does not have a 64 bit driver. (It might be possible to run under win7 32 bit, but I've not tried.)

Why not? Even if it doesn't use JTAG for debug, it almost certainly would need it for boundary scan. I just checked volume 1 of the Intel i7 processor family datasheet, and it does show a JTAG port.

Are they available to a JTAG probe? I've not looked at a modern motherboard in ages, but I wouldn't be too surprised to find unpopulated JTAG pads near the CPU.

The 1% series has an extra value band, which throws off their multiplier. Example: 1k 5% is brown black red (gold), but 1k 1% is brown black black brown (brown). We do use a few 0.1% values in some cal equipment--about $1 each!
