I'm not sure if you meant just that, but they certainly use in-house developed SDN stuff. That will at such scale still be "expensive" and "enterprise" tough.

One of the (I guess intended) effects of using an aniquated slang word is to illustrate that this is not a new problem, but that this very same problem exists for so long that it got its own well known insulting term a long time ago.

Fair argument that every unique id or name makes you trackable, but that is a much bigger (and IMHO long lost) battle on so many fronts, and it does not seem very fair to single out Microsoft here. And I don't think that is the motivat

Isn't the real point that one should not be able to obtain that much information simply by knowing some user id or user name? I would guess plenty of services include the username in some URLs. Edit: of course the autor also stated tha

In the end its just project management. I want to keep track of the things that still need to be worked on, so I don't forget them. I can delegate work, others can delegate work to me, work that requires other work or sub-steps can be

It's called saving. There are many ways to do that, but I prioritised to have enough _liquid_ capital to be able to get me through many many months without earning anything. Of course it might still be irrational, stupid and risky to q

I would compare it to involuntary manslaughter vs first-degree murder. Inaction, negligence, lack of oversight etc that allows bad things to happen, when you were in the position to prevent it, should be punishable.

But then you still have a totally different product. If I buy hardware and software, and can execute the software on my own systems, I can run that combination for as long as I like exactly like on day 1, and as the product was advertised.

You brought up math. I never disputed that 100MB / 12.5MByte/s is slightly easier than 100MB / 100Mbit/s. I'm just saying that calculation, in both forms, gives a very inaccurate answer to how long a file transfer w

You are missing my point: the raw bit rate of the network is not the rate of file transfers. There is a bunch of logic around the raw bits in the wire that make it mich more complicated than dividing by 8

I can't do the exact math for that without looking up up a bunch of stuff. I don't how much I need to subtract for the multiple headers and other overhead, how fast the transfer rate gets to the maximum, how many packages get lost

You are correct that you maybe can combine that with dedicated servers from online.net, but managing that might be a headache. Scaleway presents itself as a cloud service after all, where easy/automated management, quick scaling, rapid

I work for external clients, and when they get billed daily instead of hourly I just convert the hours into full days according to a 8 hour workday. If I worked lets say 80 hours on 20 days on their project, we bill them 80/8 = 10 days

One of the important and unintuitive points is that this is exactly NOT true. The extra hours are NOT free to the company. Ok they don't pay for them in money, but also don't gain anything in additional work being done. In the ext

If $5 was near their costs, wouldn't they then sell it for 2$ or something, because Amazon (and their brand partner) make money with the button later? I bet the $5 price point is something they arrived at mostly by asking what customer
