Google signed an agreement with the EU that said we wouldn’t. Bad things would happen if they did. As a Googler that has access to some Fitbit stuff, I have to sign a form every 30 days that indicates I understand this.

You don’t have to know about exception safety, move semantics, meta-template higgery jiggery, or the 30 years of cruft that C++ has accumulated. Good riddance.

There’s a huge spectrum between friction and 10% chance you’ll die a penniless beggar unable to see your children again. The court systems can still enforce waiting periods and explicit “friction” mechanisms without the insanity that is tod

I tried seriously for about an hour to play Factorio on the Steam Deck. It wasn’t enough. You need notes and specific study time. Steam controller configs can be way more information than you can fit in your brain.

The interesting thing about law is that the folks in charge of it are the least interested in streamlining it. The more byzantine and obscure the legal system is, the more attorneys, clerks, and judges it needs. It is a type of jobs syste

This just reminds me how much a Hail Mary the appointment of Meyer was. There's an argument that nothing could have saved Yahoo. Essentially, by hiring a inside-SV PM-type, the board thought that Yahoo had a product and technology pr
