This argument is a poor foundation for legal reasoning. Suppose a guy wants to be a slave? Shouldn’t he have the right to be enslaved? Suppose a guy wants to sell his organs? Shouldn’t he have the right to sell his organs? Well, no, society

Sampling 5 online dictionaries I am not seeing this nuance. Although sure, we can agree that a donation is a gift. In my opinion the actual nuance is that a donation is a gift driven by charitable intentions. A gift has broader connotations

Taxing individual artists is far worse than stealing from the church lockbox imo.

While Apple’s monopolistic practices should not be legal, it’s simultaneously true that Apple should not be able to inject itself into arrangements like this. It should absolutely illegal for a company to tax your revenues like this.

It is a gift under a technical tax framework. It is a donation under the normal human beings talking to each other framework.

And why are you asserting the technical tax framework is relevant here?

So if I give ten dollars to a guy begging for money that’s not a donation because he didn’t register as a non profit?

You would need a compelling argument why x^4 is interesting. Especially something like the golden ratio. Not a long of things go to the fourth power in equations we need to use. Pi^2 directly features in periodicity

Well every number is the product of another number and some coefficient. If it’s a nice clean number then that implies it could be the result of some scaling unit conversion. But that should be sort of apparent. And it’s not super interesti

The numbers I’m seeing now are about 300 prisoners, which seems believable now that Ukraine seems to be doing a ridiculous number of soldiers into Russia

Well sonic games are… weird. The actual experience of playing them blind is frankly very poor. You want to go fast but you’re constantly stopping because it’s too difficult to play smoothly without prior knowledge of the level. The levels

Elden ring in particular is just full of shitty unintuitive knowledge checks that are not easily learned by trial and error.

That doesn’t seem obvious to me at all. Seizing the plant and rigging it to explode as a quid pro quo demand for Russia to leave the Zaporizhia NPP seems perfectly reasonable. It’s not like “nuclear terrorism” is morally superior to threate

I find that tricky to believe. This is a fast operation that is probably quite a bit smaller than the Russians are claiming (they claim 1000 guys). I don’t think Ukraine is going to have the manpower to collect a significant number of priso

I’m struggling to understand what the plan is. Unless it’s just grab the nuclear power plant and force a trade. But would Russia agree to such a trade? Maybe it’s just a panic button to force them to spend more manpower on defenses.
