We went from a "dumb" Eufy RoboVac 11 to a Roomba i3+ EVO 3550 and I honestly wish we stayed with the Eufy or done more research. I just assumed Roomba was like the gold standard of robot vacuums. Its had so many stupid issues i

I imagine US sanctions on Iran make working for any company outside of Iran difficult if not impossible.

If you've been working as a developer, how do you not have any resume/job history? You can and should be able to work as a developer without the job being hell. There are dozens of us that actually enjoy our work :) Don't le

I'm definitely getting worried about that. Our CTO has always said we'd move off Heroku when we got big enough, which makes sense, but now I'm afraid we're going to be doing it in a hurry when Heroku stops caring about

I tried switching to Apple Music from Spotify. One of my favorite features were the radio stations/shows. Elton John has one called Rocket Hour. The craziest thing to me - there was no way to favorite or bookmark those shows or trac

They charge 0.5% per invoice for the higher tier, so for 20k that would be 100 bucks. Which is still excessive imo, but not 500 bucks.

Maybe a dumb question, but how do the police seize a building? Assuming this just means they barred, under threat of arrest, the owners from using the property?

This logo and name, to me at least, implied some sort of official affiliation with the PostgreSQL project. Which I think should at least be clarified on the site/readme.

I imagine Heroku would say the same, and thats fine. We deploy a bunch of Rails apps, backed by Postgres, via Heroku and most of the time what we're doing fits neatly into the 12 factor definition. However what happens if you're

Not having any sort of basic disk/storage solution has been painful for us. There's been a lot of situations where I would love to store a big blob of data on the disk while processing it but if that Heroku dyno reboots - poof, i

I don't think there's anything nefarious around the use of VPN by these services. That's just what they ended up being called because they're using VPN client software and VPN technology to enable the connection. Proxi

Recently there has been some unfortunate drama with Basecamp and DHH but has the community and atmosphere around Rails always been "steeped in unnecessary drama"? The only consistent unnecessary drama I've seen is that when

Its best to assume that Apple just wants everyone to use a single external monitor with their notebooks. Anytime you go beyond that, bad things start to happen. I had a 2017 MacBook Pro and two 27 inch 4k monitors. I connected these thro

Yes, and I think Apple knew that FaceID is basically not as good of an experience in a variety of circumstances but decided that having an (almost) unobstructed screen was worth it. I hope one day we get it back in some form.
