Attasi- Thanks for the info. I tried your suggestions: Labels: That worked really well for my use case once I figured out the non-stated trick. I kept trying to inline a #label. It didn't work and I got frustrated until I realized I

I really like this. I use DEVONthink currently for most of my notes. However, I really like the "daily" note nature of this. I have a couple of questions that would make this very useful and maybe change my current process. First,

In mountain locations, rain tends to run off the ground and into rivers as it rains. This depends on the region, but happens often in Spring/Fall. Snowmelt, when the weather warms gradually, will slowly melt. It will seep into cracks a

You likely know what is best for you, but let me offer the counter argument. Your company's dev resources are growing. You are questioning yourself as a developer. You probably know more about your company's stack than anyone. You

I worry that this thread dissuades people from doing SAML. For our business we do only do Identity Provider SAML and it works wonderfully. SAML has been a game changer for us. We are a SAAS business and 80% of our help desk tickets were peo

I agree with you on large national/international brands; however most of the brands that I see on cable TV in the U.S. aren't similar to Coca Cola. They are a fitness device that I have never heard of. They are a dry good that I d

Agreed. I went to a four year University in the U.S. However, I decided to take an accounting course at the the local community college. The “professor” was a tax accountant by day. He taught at night because he wanted some extra money. I l

Not from our perspective. It’s basically subsidized infrastructure spending. We aren’t doing the low level things they are “probably” interested in. There is no right to IP granted.

This is my experience. Their grants are also in competitive spaces. Do we want to move off Microsoft SQL Server and go to Postgres Aurora? Yes. AWS also wants us and everyone in the world to do that. It’s a win for us to get there because o

I don't know anything about Vantage. It sounds like people have had good luck with them. However, what gets us our greatest savings on AWS are two things. First, we have the luxury of being able to take advantage of Reserved instances.

I agree, the weather is very unpredictable. If the Olympics were next year in Utah it would be a disaster. Because of the drought, there is little water. That makes snow making very difficult. Perhaps they would take water from others “for

Good point. I think a decent amount of the U’s student housing was built by the 2002 Olympics. I’m not sure that could be replicated.

I’d likely welcome that. The novelty would remain and new generations of folks would get to experience what’s great about the Olympics. The cost to rebuild infrastructure may be more at one time, as every 12 years (likely 3-4 years before t

I live near Salt Lake City, in the US. We hosted the winter games in 2002. Much of the infrastructure required for a Winter Olympics is still available. So, the powers that be are trying to leverage that to host another Olympics in 2030 or

The problem with this post is that it cites a survey of how much Americans are willing to pay to "stop climate change." According to the article 57% are willing to pay $1 a month to "stop climate change" and 23% would pa

I have to take exception with nscalf saying that you should avoid very small companies like the plague. I think that expectation is based on a very silicon Valley view. However, there are many small companies out there who have a culture th

I like this. The information section is a good checklist of reminders. I'm sure much of this comes naturally to an everyday designer. However, to someone who dapples in UX periodically, this is helpful.

I would disagree. Flat design is not poison. It is simplicity. Simplicity, done well, leads to a good design. Yes, there have to be visual cues to know that it is a button. There has to be contrast. There should be a hover state that change
