They still probably use equipment, packaging and other materials that come from overseas. Or they work with suppliers impacted by tariffs. Their costs are going up. Everyone's costs are going up, although some more than others.

Hawaii is the only U.S. state where you can grow coffee and their coffee costs a fortune. You need tropical weather and high altitude. Florida won't cut it. Besides, we already have fruit rotting in the fields in Florida because there&

Someone can fork chromium if need be. There are at least a couple organizations with chromium-based browsers that have maintained their own engines in the past. Chromium is objectively very good so it’s not like it’s the time when we were l

Absolutely. This isn’t just about the F16 and F35 either. It effectively ends or drastically changes the upcoming NGAD before they even get started. Any previous sales projections are irrelevant in a world where the USA has essentially remo

What does that have to do with anything? We are talking about free market with regards to EVs and I’m saying there isn’t one due to Musk’s influence in the U.S. government. Whether or not voters supported that or continue to support it is b

Is it a free market when Musk has unfettered access to the inner workings of the U.S. government? He just shut down an entire agency with a tweet. He is in a position to effect policies that favor him and his companies. How can anyone else

Maybe a controversial opinion, but screw them for delisting games. Why would I buy these games when they obviously have no interest in selling them? To me, this is a license to go download the ROMs.

Running games in a VM appliance or an immutable container type of environment could be neat. Or some kind of hardware device. Like a console on an expansion card that could enable a secure environment while still letting you use your hardwa

I didn’t have a clue. That wasn’t part of my skillset. All we needed was a headless browser that was automated. It was crawling a few million pages a day. I had a debug console where I could see cached pages, headers, cookies, etc.

This looks awesome. About 15 years ago, I started working on a headless browser and maintained it for several years. It used SpiderMonkey as the js interpreter and had a custom DOM implementation. It ran all the modern js from the time, AJA

I don’t think there’s a good reason. BSD has comparatively poor hardware support, and software availability, while generally ok, is worse than Linux. BSD is simpler to modify because it’s all one stack and it has a license that benefits sel

The whole article seems unfair to Intel. They didn’t lose the contract because they didn’t have it in the first place. I think your analysis is correct. They win a little if they don’t get the contract and they win a lot if they do. It was

I’ve noticed the same things, but I think it’s a symptom of Nix being so polarizing in the first place. I can’t think of another piece of software I dislike so much but I’m willing to put up with it because it’s just that good. Like I can’t
