The point is acknowledging that over a million people die per year on the roads due to human error and trying to help beta test software that would help bring that number down over 90% so that our kids can have a better future.

The anti-BEV folks seem to be stuck on old arguments that either weren't true in the first place or were true a few years ago but not anymore due to rapid change. The batteries are a small part of the CO2 footprint of a car as a whole,

This guy is knocking EVs because they may draw power from a dirty grid in some parts of the world, therefore we should be selling more PHEVs? What a ridiculous argument. Of course he conveniently leaves out the trajectory we’re heading in,

In my experience we’ve hit bottom when everyone agrees we haven’t yet hit bottom. Which seems to be around now. In other words everyone who was going to sell has already sold. Unless more surprise bad news comes out.

Then they should not be using autopilot. When I have autopilot engaged I am way more alert. Also you aren’t “doing nothing” when you have autopilot engaged. The car annoys you if it doesn’t sense any force on the wheel within 10 seconds and

If we’re going to try to have autonomous vehicles, at some point these things have to be tested on real roads. Would you rather have a real human behind the wheel to take over in an instant or just have the computer plow through whatever if

$380k is not wealthy. Most people can live just fine on $380k, don’t get me wrong, but it is basically upper middle class. If $380k/yr is wealthy then what is $20 million/yr?

You are distracted by clickbait news and ignoring important advances made since 2008, a few examples which is just scratching the surface because there is a ton I am personally not even aware of: * Greatly reduced cost of solar panels and b

There have been a ton of real technological advances since 2008 that is not just on paper. You could have also said the exact same thing in 2000.

This is true, my last car (Lexus RX), every time I took it to the dealer for oil changed or inspections it mysteriously always needed $1,000+ in repairs. Then I started taking it to an auto shop my friend recommended and suddenly I never ha
