I feel like this would be better if it were more like Bump. Basically everyone in a specific range could post to other people's devices. Support for iPhone only is lame too.

As someone who tried to switch, I can tell you that this is not the case. I remember doing a resume in OO.org, and then when I sent it to my friend with Word to print it off, it TOTALLY wrecked everything. Not cool.

I'm not totally knowledgable about insurance, but I'm pretty sure if you leave the car door unlocked (or apartment door for that matter), insurance doesn't cover the theft. There needs to be some sort of forced entry, as far as I remember.

When I first added myself to Ottawa, the only other person in Ottawa was "hidden" under my marker, so it only showed jlgosse. Maybe have multiple users in those markers?

I agree with this. Actually, I will agree with it once Google allows Canadians to actually submit paid apps. What a joke!

The problem with doing this, which I have seen before on other app stores, is that making something free and then charging for it makes your app look much more valuable than it actually is. For example, if you release a free iPhone applicat

As a fellow Canadian I have the same set of beliefs. Sure, I want people to succeed based on merit too, but I can more easily relate to people based on the similar path that they have had to take, especially coming from the same place. I do

Don't use your race to explain why it's troublesome to move to America. I'm a caucasian from Canada and it is very difficult for even me to move there. While race does have a little bit to do with it, shitty American politics are even worse

If Diaspora fails, it will have less to do with the awesomeness of the project, and more to do with the lack of everyone's friends actually using Diaspora. I figure it will be a huge hit among geeks like us, but then will fall out of usage

I'm willing to bet that the average person can't even tell the difference between Serif and Sans Serif typefaces. Not that this will have an effect on their self-conscious, but it's definitely worth something.

[In reply to illumini8] Doesn't the iPhone push a non-modal (or maybe it's modal) dialog EVERY time you get a text message? Or is this an option most users have enabled? Not only that, but there is no notion of "focus" on iPhone, so it's ev

I mostly agree with Phil, but I still wouldn't call Microsoft an underdog. I mean, I recently fell in love with OSX, but my opinion still stands that Windows 7 is f'ing amazing, and still outsells (or is at least on more machines than) OSX

After thinking about it and talking with some of my colleagues, I think it would be less of a talent acquisition and more of an IP acquisition. And it would have to be a pretty valuable one at this point, as taptaptap are making some seriou

This can only mean one of two things: Either Apple is being extremely hostile and alienating one of their top developers, or they are preparing themselves for an acquisition of taptaptap in the immediate future.
