I find more and more recently I'm not just procrastinating in parallel but generally working in parallel. I'll switch from task to task and keep forgetting what I was doing, go back to a tab and realise I've left something half-done, walk t

Some really interesting ideas that are close enough to what I already do that I might well try them. Working to no schedule would be brilliant if I could pull it off, but I worry that as a mix of coder and pointy haired suited type, my co

There's some discussion of this in Starbucked , i.e. why Starbucks stores open across the road from each other. Part of it is if people are already going to that location for coffee, having an extra Starbucks and shorter lines will incite

All they need to do is force the Mac users to use Windows for an hour. I had to do that last week and I'm still recovering.

What's the point of Apple spitting on Windows 7? It's not as if that huge market of existing PC owners just wanting to upgrade their machines can go out and (legally) put OSX on there.

I saw those Dixons ads when I was last in London. It amused me (as an ex-employee, of all things!) - I have gone to shops to see things in the flesh, then ordered from Amazon. But I've never had a nice chap talk me through the options, sp

I was a program manager intern; compared to what I now know about product management, it was too far from actual code and too far from actual users to really be useful. However, as an internship it taught me a hell of a lot.

Before you launch something, surely everyone in a startup is the product manager, to one degree or another? Even if said product is the startup itself, and the customers are angels/VCs/...

You can't pay for goods with cheques in the UK but they're still reasonably common. I still handle them when: * my grandmother sends me Christmas money * I get an expense refund from the University * my flatmates refund me bills * I need

I found the lifehacker article to be a rosy-eyed view of what people would use their idea of what Wave is for. Some of them just wouldn't fly with the current UI and so on. swombat's more on the button as to what Wave actually is .

I'm almost imagining Disneyland for Entrepreneurs here. It could be awesome . And getting guest speakers etc in, both local and not-so-local, is a great way to get a profile and beat the isolation.

I think one unraised question is: what do you do once you have a potential cofounder? Do you interview them? How do you figure out if this is going to work? Is it all on instinct? In my case it's been the latter, mostly, but I think it woul
