I agree and that is why I tried to frame my sentence above "Learning and executing customer feedback skills is as important as coding". I am a firm believer that It can be learned. In fact I think many VCs look for entrepreneurs that are wi

We can go back and forth with this. Will you agree to come back to HN in 10 years (assuming HN will be around), and we shall gauge whether Detroit's growth is explosive or slow? Enough to reverse the population and poverty statistic trends?

I'd like to add that a huge issue I saw in big Corp were when people/teams used FOSS and _didn't_ look at the source. Just like the phrase rtfm, there should be rtfs.

This is why most companies need a 'talk to an engineer' instead of a sales person for those who want the details. From my understanding a few soft/hard tech companies do this with engineer rotations as you could learn a lot from talking to

I would rather have seen "Async programming or Node.JS is hard to 'get right'" than a "Step backward" - which I don't see it being at all.

I believe there is hate because a lot of 'over engineering' was done in most projects. This then necessitated the need for more complicated (and `sometimes` useless) new Java techniques. This most likely comes from seeing Java (or x,y,z) as
