Wholeheartedly agree. Gnome in particular I have been very disappointed/baffled by in the past few years. Killing off desktop icons, system tray/status icons, pushing out global menu bars. Not to mention the way they handle HiDPI

Interestingly I don’t have issues with other nightshades just tomatoes - no autoimmune issues (unless minor seasonal allergies count)

I can’t eat tomatoes at all - not sure why - I love their flavor but shortly after eating them my entire digestive system hits the panic button. It doesn’t happen with other foods (at least those I eat). I tend to just avoid them now. Edit:

I’m still personally seeing quite a bit better performance on my old laptop with a dedicated gpu in Unity 21.2 - but the power draw is much much lower (consequently better battery life) on the Mac side which definitely has its place.

That seems like a massive privacy issue, no? I don't think any major email provider lets usernames recycle under any circumstances.

While i think most of this is sensationalist, there are a couple valid crtiques here. More interesting IMO is this cease and desist letter they have sent. That surprises me.

Is it weird if I feel like my brain is completely useless for the first 4 hours of the day, I feel like my concentration gets better the longer the day goes - exercise definitely does it for me too.

Agreed, I often agree with EFF and I love what IA does typically but this was a terrible terrible decision. IMO even in a world with improved copyright laws the extent of what they did shouldnt even be allowed.

Cat ownership is one of the least likely ways to become infected with toxoplasmosis - far more likely is contact with undercooked meat. In fact most studies suggest it is not an important risk factor at all. https://www.bmj.com&#

Do any deep learning frameworks even have metal support? I could see inference working well on these laptops but they lack so much of the specialized hardware I'd be surprised if training was even possible for most useable models.
