If you want to make money and pay developers a salary, you need a product. I don’t want my js tooling to be a commercial product (hi Rome). Can we go back to the original spirit of OSS where everybody donates a little of their time instead?

You mean from the guy who opened the issue? It started with a simple “the colors don’t seem to be right” in search of comments. Reporters cannot tag issues as bugs.

One project I worked on recently ran on containers with 256MB memory, on k8s. Main app would use ~80MB, plus five or six sidecars for metrics, logging, discovery, http proxy etc using 5-10MB each. Having a 100MB+ baseline makes it prohibiti

So you’re saying Java is a bad choice for something like a sidecar (most likely multiple) running along your main app, due to that JVM overhead. I think you’re all agreeing here.

The node benchmark numbers are suspiciously low, and actually get worse for 3 cores. It seems the implementation is not using parallelism via cluster/workers/threads at all.

Consumer friendly, yes. That’s funny. Could you please? I barely read the article. My opinion is based on a strong dislike for this kind of remote kill switch. I made my argument several times but you simply ignore it, and go on to repeat w

Is manipulating people into buying a $1800 necklace when they are at a vulnerable moment “being good at it”? I think you missed the gist of the story here.

The “Uber for …” came to mean any kind of service that you get by pressing a button on your phone. Hence the overuse. It’s just a startup trope now.

Why is it more lenient than other financing plans? That makes no sense. This could literally be a traditional lease with no cloud syncing bs involved, at a cheaper cost. You’re accusing me of being manipulated but I have no horse in this ra

that’s just ignoring all the other benefits, or pitfalls of bash that you have to worry about. This project is not about enabling better parallelism. (I’ve written massive bash scripts, and now strongly prefer Ruby / python / what

If you want to have the same code structure as this, but without await, you’re gonna implement your own queuing system (every call adds an operation to a queue). Many old tools operated this way, before ES6. The problem with that it doesn’t
