They are also funding StarLink + the moon landing program. Better to pile cheap money up while investors are knocking at their doors.

A question for those in the know: since the landing payload is much lighter, wouldn’t it be possible to use SuperDraco engines (the ones used for emergency escape in the Dragon) attached to the outside to prevent RUD in case the main engine

Its actually a lot weirder for you to start questioning their ethnicity. The parent didn’t say inclusion is bad, but the execution of DEI policies is bad.

Looking forward to Excalidraw switching to an “open core” license in 2023 to get rid of competition! /s Jokes aside, congratulations to the team - it’s one of the best tools for “thinking in a group” ever invented. Thank you to all con

Of course Boeing will say it’s key. Can I just quote back from the same article? > Boeing delegated to Mitsubishi of Japan a big slice of the design work. How can that “100%” be true… these are all just empty words. > If 10 or 15 year

Semantic versioning was supposed to prevent breaking changes. I guess this is more akin to package-lock.json then.

What’s the issue with the engines field? I don’t see any particularly strong reason to not use it.

The scale of outsourcing Boeing has done for the 787 is not comparable to AB (or anyone else). They outsourced core competencies, wing design, materials, software, basically everything , and it pretty much aligns with the point the author

The fact that the specification was wrong might actually be a pretty good counter argument to your position that outsourcing doesn’t matter. Do you think the same kind of mistakes would have been made of the people writing the specification

I think you missed the main part: the dataset is not in memory. This is not SQLite-in-the-browser but using a virtual file system over HTTP. Neither of those alternatives do anything similar.

When I say speculation, I mean regarding what retraining would entail. You’re assuming a simple switch in technology stack, when in reality there are varying degrees of difficulty in switching roles (eg web to native mobile development, FE

It’s a job, not a relationship. In fact, in the US it’s fine to cut people loose at any time for no reason at all. Whatever they get as severance or even an explanation is out of the employers goodwill. Don’t like it? Vote better.

I used to organize corporate trainings. A basic [language here] one would take 2 weeks and barely get people comfortable with what they learned. You could do more with an intensive format of 40hrs/week, but to think you can train peopl

Do you have any idea the amount of effort it takes to train 36 people? Not only that, but it would cost payroll for X months PLUS the cost of training, with uncertain results, and they would still start with zero working experience. Hiring

Sensor B “enhancing” sensor A is the exact same situation as a sensor conflict. How do you tell them apart? You’re oversimplifying the issue as if it was a matter of simple addition.

800km * 2 * 6 times a year = 9600km So you don’t use your car for anything else at all during the year? Either you’re misreporting how many times you travel (you said “a couple times” earlier) or your yearly mileage.
