This applies to everyone, not just Stallman. You can't expect people to feel empathy for everyone in a world as connected as ours, it would be overwhelming.

I exclude stabbing myself and I don't think that's ugly. Its in the same vein that I exclude stabbing my computer with crapware from Apple and Microsoft.

There is no good reason to have DRM malfeatures, on someone from a society as backwards as ours would believe something like that.

Dear sbuk, After the cold war, the military cut off most of its funding to AI research, resulting in the AI winter. Without that source of funding, we have to look for the next best source, which is big corporations. Google is one of the be

Steve Jobs apparently wanted to destroy Android and for at least that reason, like Stallman, I am glad he is gone, so that he cannot do any more damage to computing.

Apple has never been credited with anything in the first place, so there is nothing to discredit. Even at their very foundation, Apple stole innovations from the workers at Xerox PARC, and then they went on to perpetuate DRM malfeatures and

Everyone using functional languages (ML/Haskell) or logic languages (Prolog) should respect the considerable contributions McCarthy made to these areas throughout his entire life.

The point is Apple is a great marketer. The extent to which they are an innovator, on the other hand, is often exaggerated.

Haskell isn't building anything. It is just a programming language. It is people that are actually building these things and some languages, such as Haskell, are implementations of them.

What I discovered after this journey of learning is that the languages did not matter. This sounds a lot like my journey. I was overwhelmed with the details of ~20 programming languages and data formats. Eventually it actually got rather

This article states that well known functional programming languages includes the ML family. What about the Lisp family (Scheme, Clojure, Qi)? They represent the dynamic side of functional programming.
