Unless there is already an extensive network in place for organ trafficking, with complicity from hospitals.

Seems like your classic win-lose situation to me. The rich get their organs faster, the poor die when their one remaining kidney fails because they can't afford market rates.

I don't think it's necessarily condescension to second guess decisions made 100 years ago. I can think of plenty of examples of clearly horrible decisions agreed upon by the consensus of elite thinkers 100, 50, 20, 10, or 5 years ago...

I'm not sure what perspective Saudi Arabia's laws give us. In Saudi Arabia homosexuality is punishable by death, does that give us any perspective of how they should be treated here?

Having a balanced life is better, I don't think many would disagree with that. He's saying that having a balanced life prevents you from being a geek, however.

In my experience for a man, calling yourself a geek is sort of a reluctant self-deprecating admission whereas for women it's actually a hidden brag, code for "I have interests that go beyond gossip magazines and reality shows"

I use a Roth IRA for most of my long-term savings, can withdraw contributions very quickly with no penalty whatsoever. My investments are riskier but even if they tank I can still afford a $2000 type emergency. To me this makes more sense

The problem is that a lot of those people belong in prison. I mean release the pot dealer serving 25-to-life, fine...but you'll still be left with a lot of 'real' criminals out there. And sure there are a lot of unique systemic failures i

I think you're totally wrong, there's no idealogical support for the regime there. The military support him because he makes them 1st class citizens and they know it's the only way they can eat. The civilians are just scared to death and

I'm not asserting that the US has a superior human rights record or that we don't engage in policy that could be seen as 'evil'. The argument being made here seems to be that we lack the moral high ground to criticize the NK regime. I've

In this case the degree is fairly important though. If we ignore degree completely we have most of the liberal democracies in the world lumped in with NK, Libya and Zimbabwe. Obviously lines must be drawn.

Do those nobel prize winners sometimes eat hamburgers for lunch? To me humans approach to animal life is a better metaphor for what human-robot relations could look like. They won't hate us, they won't want to exterminate us, but we will

Cause if you're at the bottom there's plenty of room to grow, even just by switching jobs. Finding out you're the top paid programmer in your area is good for the ego but doesn't do anything for your bottom line.
