I think the difference is probably in the fact that Poland was a USSR satellite nation, much like DDR, while in Latvia after occupation they didn't set up a puppet state, but directly integrated us into the USSR. The implication here i

It was a very weird moment when 'the bags' were published. On one hand it had to be done as there were conspiracy theories abound regarding who's in them. Intially pretty much everyone would log in to check if there's so

It looks like there's nothing in the way to put something like one of those kite-sails meant for cargo ships on a ship like this one to reduce the fuel needs and hence the carbon footprint even more.

Putting Deno project on the Typescript website frontpage is the most prominent advertising for it that I've seen. Nice! It does look really promising. Has anyone tried doing anything substantial with it?

Fwiw, I've found that the inversion approach of fighting procrastination works considerably better for me. So, instead of trying to not do something I try to do something instead. In more detail this means focusing on achieving a certa

Like thepangolino says, this is exactly what I fell satisfied about. I'm not really arguing that the overall outcome is desirable. I'm simply satisfied that the European Commision is indeed shown to be a subject of the law, not th

This absolutely must be reasoned about together with climate change projections. I don't see there's any chance in hell we can stop at a 2 degree world. That means though that large parts of the world will likely become inhospitab

I was lucky enough to be able to use the Twist app for team communications for some time. I highly recommend it to people willing to go the async way. It feels like a perfect cross between e-mail, forum and slack.
