If you did that, what's the advantage? Instead of loading an image file, it loads a font file, which seems a lot like an image file when used that way.

If this worked well enough, some "laptops" could become just a slab with a keyboard & touchpad on it. Screens are thin & light already, but perhaps there would be some power savings in that?

I've never been an admin of any meetup group, but I have been an attendee of many. As an attendee, I'm almost never caring who the group owner is, and it certainly doesn't play a role in whether I decide to join the group or

Agree that it would be a regulation. I'm suggesting that this be the goal of regulation, though. Instead, many regulations seem to be focused on improving quality without regard as to how that affects access.

People talk about regulation as though it's a single thing. There's a difference between ensuring that food doesn't contain melamine and dictating the precise temperature that a steak must be cooked to. We need terminology ca

That did cross my mind and probably explains it. I do wonder how much Apple Music revenue really comes from Android users via Shazam, but perhaps it's significant enough that they don't want to ruin it.

I'm surprised that Apple have kept Shazam working well on Android for this long. They acquired it 4 years ago already.

In 2022, Android & Chrome are the most valuable pieces of Google. For instance, if Microsoft controlled them, they could just point the search functionality toward Bing, and most users mightn't even notice.
