Didn’t HN collectively loose their s..t when Microsoft did something similar with Win 10 telemetry?

I think the problem here is mandate. That's seen as a venture into the private markets, which no EU governing body has, unless it's some form of PPP or something similar. EU's mandate is creating a harmonized, balanced market

If we're are talking about Rust criticism it's pretty average in terms of tone and substance.

I’m not sure what you mean exactly by “political economy”? In any case, what is excluded usually from definition of means of production is human capital. Slavery is decidedly not that. It is the ownership and dehumanization of people. Ther

Well, I'd argue that slaves were the means of production. But also things like olive oil presses. There's this example of an ancient Greek philosopher Thales essentially inventing the option derivative contract by buying the right

The Roman Empire had a pretty thriving and developed usury economy, so I'm not sure why you think it's a modern thing. Also, just FYI: the term "capital" as used by economists doesn't mean money. It means ownership

Why would philosophers have a say in this? But point is, that question is far from settled. Especially if you consider the key features being the free market and private property, then capitalism goes far into BCE.

It’s seems a rather peculiar definition of capitalism, if it emerged so late.

It's a decent article. Defining "scrum" in a debate-club fashion here is meaningless and is actually a valid strategy to discredit any criticism of it. 1. Scrum being a "philosophy" itself isn't clearly defined

I'd agree with that, but it doesn't require that productive people are "loners". Best programmers I know are brilliant in communicating with people, setting standards, and so forth. Even if they sometime crank out a libr
