Oh, I absolutely _don't_ want PDF reflow! The PDFs I read are formatted a specific way for a reason. 2-column, latex-generated academic papers, etc. Reflow is one of the worst things to happen to digital publishing, IMO. I get it that

Same here. I had literally dozens of moleskines that I've been writing in for nearly 15 years. I'm a huge fan of paper, but was looking for a solution that allowed me to digitize my note-taking without giving up the ergonomics of

I read PDFs (and highlight and annotate) on my RM2 daily. It's a _fantastic_ PDF reader, IMO. It's the ability to annotate that's killer for me. I mark things up extensively, writing notes in the margins, starring items, unde

That's interesting, because I read PDFs (and annotate) every single day. Pinch-to-zoom works great, and it's the best PDF reader I've experienced. Can't recommend highly enough.

This is an unbelievably large release, all at once. And for an existing product and codebase that's been around as long as Trello, this kind of bundled release is quite the feat! Good luck, Trello team!

I'm curious to hear more about what distinguishes learning to program in a "purpose-first programming" approach. This sounds really similar to constructionist learning ideas that Seymour Papert espoused. Remember Logo? That&#

That's definitely the way our students see it. May be hard for many who have secure tech careers to empathize with how difficult it is to break into a new industry and what a leg up this experience gives them.

Thanks for the feedback! A couple of thoughts: - We actually want someone evaluated as a potential hire, not an intern. We expect our Fellows to be ready for real work, and the Fellows experience is the measure of whether they are or not. -

We're also bought in on the apprenticeship model. This program represents an attempt to make the learning journey more apprenticeship-focused. Our incentives are totally aligned with the student. If we don't do a good job of prepa

That's encouraging to hear that the Netherlands has an allowance for unpaid work when the goal is the learning experience. It's really clear to us at Lambda that the best way to _learn_ to do a thing is to do the _real_ thing, but

That page is targeted at the value proposition for the company, not the student. There are legit benefits to the company, in addition to the major benefits to the student.

One quick point: Fellows is first and foremost designed for our students. We started by looking at our Labs program, which was 8 weeks long, and thinking about how we could make it better. Labs is a simulation, and a good one!, but will alw

Hi. jessmartin here. I've been using this framework for over a decade to think about the different levels of work and it's been very helpful. Curious to hear critiques or responses to this approach.
