Seems to me like being able to implement things 10x more quickly than your competitors is a sustainable competitive advantage. If you're trying to appeal to employees/investors, being an order of magnitude faster is a good pitch. Think abou

I'm happy to see this happening. I pitched this same idea to a few friends last year and have wondered for a while why entrepreneurs don't commonly exchange equity simply to reduce the risk of entrepreneurship, and why there aren't funds li

Right. I didn't mean to take away from your point at all, which I do think is fascinating. I've just noticed that people generally do equate "energy intake" with calories that go into your mouth, and find that interesting.

I'm confused by the application of this law to food. My reason: excrement. You put some mass that contains chemical energy into your body. Then that mass comes out of your body, minus SOME of the chemical energy. How much of it is extracted

Thanks! This is helpful, and I think I'll give it a shot. I've pretty much already transitioned to eating mostly fruits/veggies/meats/whole grains, so I guess the main thing would be simply focus less on the grains and start counting calori

I'd love to hear about your experience, as I'm intrigued by the idea of trying caloric restriction but am somewhat stymied by the details. Specifically, how did you transition to a restricted diet? How have you felt, both emotionally and ph

I think this is fantastic. The layout immediately reminded me of looking at the elaborate covers and inserts in my dad's vinyl collection while listening. Essentially, feels like a more intimate way to engage music. Definitely still some UI

I think that having complementary skill sets is important, but I'd say that after technical skills, interaction design skills are probably more important than business skills. Like they say: first get to product market fit, then grow the bu

I believe the motto is "Don't be evil." I keep seeing "Do no evil" in places, including on large news sites, which is odd, because it completely lacks the sense of humor of "Don't be evil." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dont_be_evil

Personally, I like both (a) making things and (b) making other people happy. It's why I cook dinner for friends. It's why I develop products. I think, as humans, we all have some broken parts in us, and hopefully adding value to other peopl

The article and analogy definitely made me smile. I agree with you to netsp, though, to a degree. I want them to be adding value in the mental space where their product lives in my brain, but not as narrowly as you say here. Relevant links,
