I would recommend using a different DNS service than your registrar. If you ever need to move registrars, it will simplify your life. Personally, I use DNS Made Easy. Pretty cheap and reliable. And also, don't make the mistake I once did by

My first rule is use a registrar to register domains. Never host your site or DNS at the registrar. My second rule is do not host your DNS where you host your site. It makes it easier to switch providers without downtime. With these rules,

Sorry about the remark. What a difference a character makes... I suppose it was too late or too early in the day. In any case, your article was quite helpful because I've been using Redis a lot, but not yet the PubSub functions. I've found

Our Startup, Buyosphere previously had a name so bad (shwowp for wow in shopping) that we even won an award for the worst brand name in 2010! Read about the rebranding here: http://techcrunch.com/2011/04/15/purchase-sharing-site-shwow..

It's amazing and infuriating how almost each OS X release breaks many existing applications. They may cost 30$ or 60$ bucks a pop, but then you have to upgrade other vendor's app and it ends up costing you hundreds of dollars. In Lion, I've

Didn't knew about them either. Not too worried about the home page having hickups earlier as it isn't their database cloud. But, I'll definitely do some testing around this/these MySQL MySQL cloud service(s). Something I haven't looked at b

That seems cool but it took me a few seconds to realize that their 4th and 5th line of code in the clustering example in the post are identical. I doubt that should be the case. Pretty early it seems.

Surely there should be a preference to disable this behavior. I suppose there's not. There's a use case here were things are better left to the user. I hate it when software thinks it knows more than I do and thinks it's brighter than I am.

I agree. I really liked the thought process and the history/experience that made you think of using MTurk for this project. It shows that we sometime stumble on ideas that aren't just useful for just ourselves.

I used to do a lot of contract work and you need to have a good no nonsense contract. I always had a payment schedule in the contracts: 50% upfront and 50% payable immediately on delivery with milestones so they can check the progress of th

If you break even and make profits, then yes, it's a success. Granted, you would need quite a few apps at that level a earnings to make a living.

CloudFlare does proxying and cashing for static and dynamic pages too and adds some security stuff. Not sure they minify and compress static resources, though. So, both services look like they are very different. CloudFlare will speed up a
