Perhaps suggestions of how this could be made more civil while retaining the criticism would have been a better way to word the comment - want to take another shot? Stuff like "one good thing, one bad thing" or any type of sugar coating is

I tried to be constructive, but I honestly couldn't find a single good thing about this. The execution was poor, and the entire idea of making a 'framework' out of boxes with background colors is ridiculous. I do apologize for the harshness

This is an abomination. Do we honestly need a "framework" to use the background-color and float properties? Not to mention that the design here is very poorly executed, and as someone else mentioned the responsiveness doesn't even work. I'

The one advantage that extends provides is less code bloat (if you use them right) in the compiled product - rather than inserting the same code, extends will add the select to the list with the previous selector. So if you were to write so

Thanks! And definitely agreed - I never used @extends too much previously, but I'm starting to see some use cases for it. The placeholder class is an especially nice new feature outlined here, also props to Chris Eppstein for his awesome w

If you are looking for more power, you can use mixins rather than extends. This way, you do get an additional and very signficant power boost - what previously were utility classes are now functions, which take parameters and have the abili

I thought this exact same thing a few months and have been building a framework that works exactly this way. I've spoken about it at a number of small meetups and events. I haven't released it to the public yet, and it's currently getting a

I wrote a very very similar article many months ago (but no upvotes * sob *) - perhaps people interested in this article would also be interested in my take on it, where I rely much more on mixins than extends: http://carrotblog.com/css-pa

A critical thing to remember is that this can become very inefficient if you are using it in many places, as sass's implementation currently just pulls the media query repeatedly out of the current selector, rather than looking through and

I found this type very difficult to read, and added these styles which made it much cleaner. If you add these to your site, people will love you <3 .entry-content p { font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.7em; color: #555; -webkit-fon

There are between 1 and 3 posts that say quite literally the EXACT same thing as this post that end up on the front page of hacker news every week , and frankly it's starting to wear thin. As @debacle said, this is becoming a really old an

Using bootstrap default styles on a production site is lazy and shows a complete disregard for the art of design and front-end development. It's like buying a template from themeforest for $30 and changing the site title and name, except ev

If your beef was with the W3C, you should have stated that in your original comment. And then do some research on what it is, how it works, and who sits on the panel before you decide to rule them all inefficient idiots. ...then you argue t

Fair enough - it wasn't a totally fair logical argument and you called me out on that one - +1 for that. However, you must acknowledge that the conclusions I jumped to were far from unreasonable. Who complains about technological progress?
