'paulhauggis' is dead-on re: why the policy is set the way it is. However, I think the key takeaway is the lack of customer service, not the service itself. Nobody likes being told their stupid, and nobody likes being ripped off.

In my opinion, it’s going to boil down to what you accomplish – not where you go to school. A good school will, however, provide you with a good network and make you more attractive applicant. Once you decide whether you want to study CS
