Hmmm. Saving a document is just making a record of the changes. With that in mind, some ideas: -record/disc (as the round image is generally universal, even inside floppies) -page (as in a document, as in to record something) -a

I think the article makes a good point about the disappearance of service jobs. But then, I'm one of those "the jobs are disappearing, it's time we renegotiated the social contract" people.

Eh, really seems like a dick move by the artist. I don't begrudge someone wanting a hefty share of the wealth they explicitly created (celebrities, athletes, tech (b/m)illionaires) through their goods and services. It's more a feeling of d

I've worked in local tv production for a long time actually, so I completely get what you're saying. But I honestly feared it would be a lame partnering with existing channels to share old product. But then, I'm something of a pessimist. Th

I gotta say, I'm really happy with how many of these I don't recognize. I'm glad it's not all existing channels. Now to start applying!

I guess I attributed to "dude" what I see more people doing with "actor", an implication that changing the word itself (to dudette, or dudesse, I suppose) is more offensive than using a single term for a single idea that, itself, doesn't ne

"Bro" has become a word used like "hey guys" in mixed company, or "dude", applied equally to men and women. It's cultural, and like many cultural things, is popularized from chan sites. Starting as mocking the fratguy and Jersey stereotypes

Oh, something I would've like when working in an office? A tie-in to our phone system that let me type in someone's name to get their number/info, and click on a button (well, tab then tap enter) to make my phone ring, and them call that pe

I gotta say, Valve is just about genius in both their marketing and what they've done with this game in general.

As someone who joined a while back at a friend's suggestion, and only recently started getting involved (the past year?) I feel compelled to say "My bad," to everyone. I'm finding my footing I feel, but yeah, I've put up some stinkers, but

Looks like a big opportunity for Twitch.tv/Justin.tv just opened up. I hope they get in on it. I know they're focused on live gaming, but there's a community here that will gladly gather around a welcoming site.

Ahhhh, appreciated. I made an assumption as to why, but yeah, that makes more sense. That sentence just threw me off. But your core point is probably right; they probably did see the iphone and say "well shit. Call up the team." I don't thi

You call that the original prototype, but even that article says "The original demo video showed a handset that was closer to an iPhone (although with keyboard) than a Blackberry, complete with touch screen interface,". That seems kind of at

Like eru suggested, I had an idea of what was to happen based on my understanding; I would incur an overdraft free on that purchase. Little did I know there were cases I'd not known about.

Sering this, I think the same thing I did when I first saw quadrotors on Youtube: So, when do things like this replace cameras and helicopters as high tech policing tools? Just place charging stations around the city that they can land in (

As someone who has always considered themselves a younger X-er, I agree with your ""we live in a fucked up world, what are we going to do about it," vision of things. I think my bar was always too high, and that's what led to my discontent.

I'm led to believe that culture wasn't always as fast as it is now. Some period in human history lasted thousands of years, then hundreds, eventually decades. Now things may be a constant stream, but looking in history, the marks of change
