"We messed up bad. We launched without having a backup procedure in place, and without the resources to make it happen. This was a hard-learned lesson that won’t happen again. We have no one except ourselves to blame." You know how you mess

I tried sending you an email but there seems to be a problem with the MX record associated with your domain. Mail is being rejected.

For whatever it's worth, we use Jabber group functions. This is used exclusively in our tech office. No other group in the company uses it.

I'm entirely aware of the financial situation. How is calling my employer a pump and dump scam NOT spiteful when I've worked on this project from the beginning? Edit: Also, I don't appreciate you posting that. It's completely off-topic. Kee

As the sysadmin to a company that does use both S3 and Cloudfront, I'm a little shocked anyone would think to use S3 for distribution. A little testing will reveal just how slow S3 can be.

You're doing something horribly wrong. I work for a live streaming company and we make extensive use of Varnish. It can probably solve the problem you're describing.

They're using DNS for DB communication. That's a major faux pas.

How about they focus on launching in other markets first? I heard they were launching in Canada, months ago. Still nothing. And now they want to take on video? One thing at a time Spotify.

Very cool. We're in the live streaming business and currently using Wowza to redistribute our content via several distribution layers. I wonder if they'll release the source eventually...

Seems sketchy that I can't view the available numbers before signing up. I almost signed up but without that information, I was skeptical and opted not to continue.

I just signed up for the trial. I hope to receive an invitation as we're actively using Galera on AWS-EC2 right now and experimenting with RDS. We are a live event streaming company that expects several million viewers per event so somethin

I welcome metaphors but your use was...well, shit. You basically dropped the word cancer in there then moved on without fleshing out the thought. And just because you've lost someone doesn't make it less offensive. You're comparing your fir

All valid points. Perhaps I need to read/watch alternative media sources. I mostly don't hear about those issues for the most part. Any recommendations for factual/somewhat unbiased information?

Perhaps you're right. I feel like China has regressed quite a bit in that capacity though. I try and stay up to date on American politics and from what I can tell, there are some 'good intention' efforts towards fixing some of these issues.

Agreed. I'm certainly not condoning that behaviour in any way. I'm merely speaking to the 'China v. America' debate. Just wanted to clarify that.

That strikes me as curious. While I'm certain there is a reasonable explanation, i.e., "This is a report on foreign governments.", it would make sense to include themselves. Why do you suppose that is?

Agreed. I'm not disputing that. I don't think America is actively trying to not 'fix itself'. I often wonder if some of its efforts are misguided, but I do believe there is a genuine effort. This is just China's way of saying, "You've got p

I don't think that was their intention. I believe their goal was something along the lines of, "You can point out our flaws all you want, but you've got problems too." type of thing. Although, I think it was primarily just a propaganda piec

While I - as a Canadian - am not a HUGE fan of America(nothing personal, just spoiled in the great North), I find it more than a little hypocritical for China to be pointing the finger at anyone for these types of things. Which isn't to say

I wish they'd list pricing in the event you grow beyond the free plan. Reluctant to even bother trying without knowing that type of information.
