I would say Roblox is a top tier game (counting the DAU) and they say it the investment was fine. Thus Apple did the right move - good api, good performance, fast to implement.

the "right" tool does not only depend on the business problem to be solved, it also depends on the team itself. if the team doesnt like rust, they probably wouldnt use it less they are forced.

you do not want to delete tests that provide insight how your unit works internally. If you were to delete these and you happen to have a regression, you need more time to analyse the faulty external behaviour and make conclusion about how

True, but then steam does provide value to you. I would assume a revenue share of 30% is acceptable albeit painful in your case, since otherwise you wouldn't do it.

If you sell on steam you could also, not sell there and sell directly to you customers, right ? Could you host your own webstore and implement a cheap key system. That way you need to a lot less for the transactions.

that depends on the interpretation. most people don't mean there is a simpler implementation that has the same feature set and execution properties. Most people mean it has features i don't need, hence it is too complicated

How about this, instead labelling something as overrated, start with a more positive and differentiating point of view: - when to use unit-tests ? - when are other tests more useful ? - which bugs can unit-tests find ? - in what situations

the cool part is, eventhough it needs refueling in orbit it is still cheaper by an order of magnitude than all the other options... some guy on youtube calculated an upper estimate of the cost to about 2000$ per KG - if i remember correctly
