I've seen increasing usage of PopSockets. From what I can tell it helps people with smaller hands hold the phone because they can grip the PopSocket instead of having to stretch their hand out to fit the phone.

If the past 20 years of research & drug development have been wasted, how does the average person help steer the ship away from clearing the plaque, and more towards identifying and treating the cause of the plaque in the first place?

If you love mismanagement that produces excess housing, you should move to Detroit.

Perhaps the US and EU will put aside squabbles caused by the trade war to have a united front against China?

I know that Epic was hiring UX designers a few years ago. I didn't make it through their interview process, but I'm kind of glad I didn't due to the invasive nature of the remote test that I had to take.

As a former resident of New Jersey, I'm aware of Abbott districts, and trying to place the blame them for NJ's high property taxes is absurd. It's not a separate tax, it's simply redistributing school funds from existing

Where in Michigan are you going to be moving back to? Ann Arbor has gotten more expensive since 2018, although you probably won't have a problem affording an apartment even in downtown since you work in tech.

Sounds like the farming equivalent of Cash for Clunkers. IIRC, Cash for Clunkers rendered the vehicle inoperable by destroying the engine block, and in this case it seems that they cut the axle.

I believe so. The campaign against internal migration is happening in the sense that people in western states that aren't California are pissed at Californians for moving to those states and driving up housing prices.

I'm not too surprised by the makeup of this list. West Virginia and Kentucky are resource extraction states that are primarily focused around coal, and Oklahoma is focused around oil & gas. New Jersey and Connecticut have high taxe

Ever since this whole repo issue started, we've been told that the ever incresing sums of money that are put into the system are just a "short term" thing, yet no end date is ever announced. Not to mention that the actual cau

Interesting take. Personally, I would say that even as a middling developer, you'll be earning more than the vast, vast majority of blue collar workers, and probably putting less wear and tear on your body.

I'll agree with almost everything you say, but I can't agree with the lower standard down payments. That is one of the reasons that we got into such a mess in the mid 2000's, along with lower underwriting standards.

Please read my comment again. I said it implies it, not outright says it. From the 14th paragraph: "Thanks to Janklow, South Dakota has a financial services industry, and the US has a trillion-dollar credit card debt." This is def

I honestly don't know if I can take this article seriously when it implies that South Dakota repealing usury laws is singlehandedly responsible for all of the credit card debt in the US.

I'm not sure what the legal standing for this is. If the EPA can legally grant states the ability to set their own emissions, why can't it revoke it or roll it back?

So true. My parents live in Central Jersey, and their property taxes are probably going to top $12k this year. Just like your parents, they like living in the state, but at some point the fiscal situation just won't be tenable.

There's a lot of handwringing over how long gas will stay relevant, but I really believe that adoption of electric vehicles is going to follow a S curve. I know that when I look for my next car in 2 to 3 years, I'm definitely taki

This whole situation really makes me wish that there was more transparency at the Fed. I want to know why they're doing this, because if some of the linked articles in this thread are correct, it amounts to nothing more than a bailout
