This has its own problems. It makes it difficult to swap tickets. A music festival I went to recently charged 30 euro to change the name on a ticket.

Nice, the excellent open source android app RadioDroid also uses radio browser. https://github.com/segler-alex/RadioDroid In my experience I haven't found it to be lacking any stations. But the nice thing is I thi

Also the author does give the year in the next paragraph. So no googling required. I also didn't know what the date of the American revolution was, but I understood it was just an example. > if you’re like me, you’ll find the questi

Oh cool, and it looks like it can also decrement by 1/2/4/8. > After the byte, word, or doubleword is transferred from the memory location into the AL, AX, or EAX register, the (E)SI register is incremented or decremented

I haven't had a lucid dream for a long time, but used to make this mistake too and wake up. I love the parent comment's description about the system detecting a "glitch in the matrix". Though I feel it is just if you rou

For functions like strcmp, I think they must be signal safe, to be POSIX compliant. https://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man7/signal-safety.7.html If it's on this list I generally trust it is safe. I guess m

I'm not super familiar with ARM / ARM64 assembly and was confused as to how x0 was incremented. Was going to ask here, but decided to not be lazy and just look it up. const float f = *data++; ldr s1, [x0], #4 Turns out

You could be surprised. For example, recently I wanted to call `gettid()` in a signal handler. Which I guessed was just a simple wrapper around the syscall. However, it seems this can cache the thread ID in thread local storage (can't

Yeah, I got a flyer about it in the post recently. Seems like a great idea, I seldom post anything, but when I do it's a pain to have to go buy stamps. It's a bit stingy though that they are charging so much more for a digital sta

I'm surprised people value physical page turn buttons so much. I've had a kobo Clara HD for years now, running KOReader (one of my most loved pieces of software). I can turn the page one handed by just curling a finger around from

I also wonder how it applies to Matrix, which is encrypted and technically decentralized. However most users will be using the matrix.org homeserver, which makes it effectively centralized. Though I can still create my own homeserver that t

Judging from the spiderwebs clinging to it, the emergency stairway was hardly ever used. To each web clung a small black spider, patiently waiting for its small prey to come along. Not that the spiders had any awareness of being “patient.”

I remember stuff like this when I was in university. I remember getting apps that made you solve maths problems before the alarm would go off. Crazy to think. Now I've got kids and it's the opposite, even if I'm away from the

I actually really like the look of this. I've been using a dumbphone for about 6 months, with a back up smartphone for banking etc., that I try to use more like a laptop. Recently I bought a unihertz jelly star, which is essentially a

I do something similar, but offline. I have a nice notebook and I write letters to my daughters. Generally mundane day to day stuff or events that happen. I hope to give it to them when they are older. I do like the idea of an email though

From a quick scan of the code, on mobile, it doesn't look like it does. This seems to actually manually parse the ELF file and recursively parse any dependencies. Pretty cool.

I was really tempted to try sailfish a few times in the past. Do you have any issues with banking apps? It's a little scandalous that using a bank is so difficult these days without a smart phone.
