Those are all decent use cases, but they could all be solved without the use of a personal smartphone (Which if we want to dive deeper would mean that we are now basing education on a class divide given most poor children likely wouldn'

I think the problem isn't so much the technology, maybe it is just our general teaching methodology. I feel like in US schools we don't allow much room for self-learning inside the school itself, every class has a teacher and less

Thanks for your generalization, but I'm actually here for constructive discussion and not personal attacks. My question is how many kids are actually going to do that? And what justifies them to be the judge of whether what the teacher

But would these supposed kids with "more potential" realize that potential given access to a smartphone during the time when they are being educated? I fail to see the use of a communications/entertainment device in a classro

Yes, exactly. Click-throughs are great and easily measurable, but showing a product name/image in the context of a user seeking content has value in itself.

I would agree with this, but it isn't even just straight ads. Think about something like Netflix - the $10 a month subscription is nothing to the rich person, so if they don't use it or use it for one or two shows they don't

I agree, I think there is a level where this is true, and it is at the absolute bottom (like $15 nightstand level), but if you move slightly up from those "lines" the build is a bit better. No, you aren't going to hand them d

I agree on quality, but I am surprised that the TV industry hasn't evolved yet beyond typical 30 second commercial spots. Maybe we haven't hit critical mass of people ditching cable TV - the likely culprit being sports. With YouTu

I get your point, but I have seen bikes dumped in the middle of the sidewalk. It would be nice if the bike share companies gave a discount or something for "friendly" parking. Like you take a photo of the bike's parking spot

Yeah, this is the confusing part for me - moving from BTC to other crypto. Also if it is based on USD price at the time of the transaction...then which one? Coinbase rates can be far different from other exchanges.

I work remote and regularly work from coffee shops where the noise level is high. I find I am quite able to block out the noise/distractions fine in that environment. I also go into the office occasionally (which is an open layout) and

I think the difference comes by who is doing it. An end user doing it is their own right. A corporation bypassing another corporations monetization is something they should be permitted to deal with. They are essentially gaining a competiti

Yeah I have the same issue. It seems the primary key in triggering a stand hour is having your arms down at your side, or moving around a bit - so keyboard posture doesn't work out.

I'm specifically referring to iOS with the window fade. Of course the issue with it is that the user would have to notice the lack-of the effect on the fake popups (or apps trying to fake the users app icons/wallpaper) My point is

Huh? How? Those users would be entering in their passwords in the dialogs today. Adding a visual indication of a secure dialog can at least help the power users, while not changing anything for the ones that don't know the difference.

It is crazy to me that this is an issue on iOS or Android, there is so much they can do to actually make it secure. For one, on iOS, just "fading out" the app view over the users homescreen wallpaper. There is no way an app can do

I don't believe so, but that isn't their point. The point being that Google is tying the translation feature into these headphones to upsell them, even though it could be done without headphones at all.
