ChimeraOS carried nvidia drivers for years. The issue is that Valve's Gamescope, which is now a requirement for Steam doesn't run well on the nvidia drivers, and old big picture mode got retired.

They're just catching up to Android, ChromeOS, and SteamOS. The market rejected traditional needs-a-sysadmin linuxes on client a long time ago.

There's rough rhythm-only cuts of Justice on music services (I think they were on the last reissue) and it's like listening to an entirely new dimension of those songs. I don't play guitar but my friend does and he was like &

Thanks for the shout out! I haven't seen people talk about some of the other features so I'll mention a few for the others: At first you do it manually like keeping an ubuntu LTS box around for when I need to do that kind of stuff

ublue is based off of fedora and rpm-ostree, which is what "CoreOS" is today. What happened was old school CoreOS was A/B partition based: https://github.com/coreos/docs/blob/master/os/

Flatcar uses 2 partitions, A and B, you boot into one and then updates update the one that you're not booted into, when you reboot it it boots into the updated one. It's like Android: https://source.android.com/doc

I've been running Flatcar Linux as my home server OS since it was CoreOS (which was later acquired by redhat and rebased onto ostree -- Flatcar kept the A/B partition setup so it was nice to be able to directly upgrade to it.) You

I am glad someone is doing this. There's lots of things in nix I want to try and use but the tooling and docs are just a bridge too far for me, if someone's going to give the initial ux a do over then I'm down for that!

I agree that policing a bunch of third party rebundling of apps is problematic but the entire idea of just giving up and letting user applications splat all over my system because that's how linux always has been doesn't work.

The new deckui depends on gamescope, which only has preliminary support for nvidia cards. People are working on it though, not sure when to expect it.
