Sounds like a good backdoor with plausible deniability ("the dev forgot to restore permissions").

I use SCP all the time to transfer files to a VPS. I do not understand this trend of deprecating things that are working (X.org, SCP) with inferior alternatives (wayland, ssh cat etc).

This is awesome and I think the point here missed is that the audience of this PaaS are experts who do not have a hard time with a CLI. I personally would not hire a Devops person who could not navigate a CLI but I am not experienced in HR

I never managed to fully get into MongoDB and work with it. Document model just does not work for me, having worked with relational databases for nearly 12 years.

A lot of people do not realize that the majority of people do not want democracy anymore. They want to be told what they want to hear, and they want people who have different thoughts to be silenced and tucked away for their own psychologic

The person who is making this CoC complaint is clearly a narcissist who is unable to cope with criticism. There needs to be some sort of pushback against people who are attempting to initiate a mob lynching against people that they feel don

This. Snopes does not need a smear campaign as they already have very little credibility due to it's blatant political bias and subjective takes on what they think is "objectively false".

I have defaulted to using X.Org on my Debian GNOME installation because of awful font rendering on Wayland along with other issues such as recording. This desperate push by Wayland people is putting me off of Wayland. You can't FUD a s

This. It's surprising how much it helps with job stress and depression. I can leave the house, get on the bike, come up with a solution in my head while enjoying the wind then come back repaired.

This is very similar to Mao imprisoning people for "threatening the revolution". The revolution is good when it serves them but not when it threatens their hold on power. They now want to ban free speech because it is against thei

I dislike this whole "we must keep adding features and doing things" culture. Some things like CUPS or the DWM window manager have reached a point where there is nothing more to do because it does everything it is supposed to do.
