I've said it before...I'm fairly confident the government will subsidize a nation-wide 5th generation wireless technology for free internet for all. It'll likely be restricted to just 80/8080 traffic, be throttled, and of course governed a

I think the general point is that for certain apps, a native environment is better suited to allow easy access and organization mentally. For a to-do list, it makes some sense. That way you can ⌘+TAB over to it, add or check your to-dos, th

In case anyone's wondering, Wunderlist is written in HTML/JS/CSS using Appcelerator's Titanium Desktop packaging tool to make it native using the WebKit framework. You can check out their source inside the app package. Pretty neat stuff. P

If I can make a suggestion: Don't replace your existing, stable Skype. The new one throws away their previous UI and some of the changes are REALLY pissing me off. I usually have Adium, Colloquy, and Skype all lined up in a Spaces screen ni

This lunch isn't an investor meeting. It's a chance to have some food and chat about start-ups in general or general advice on your own. I'm fairly certain there is no implied chance of funding. After all, this is for charity. That's not t

Exactly. People call bullshit if I mention my sleep habits but there's something about learning new things that is so addictive. It's my joy in life certainly.

I seem to binge code often. Usually that means I'll go for 2-4 months with 2-3 hours of sleep, coding until the sun comes up. Now, I'm not super-human. It takes a toll certainly. During these binges I'll crash for a good 8 hrs every week o

What I find funny was that TechCrunch cited a random twitter user Machika Kuro (xXstandstillXx) as their informant of how it was most likely compromised. If you read the tweet they were citing, "@TechCrunch @alexia mostlikly a mysql injunct

I think Apple buying Adobe makes more sense than Sony..but even still, not likely. With Sony's headquarters in Japan and all, Steve Jobs can't have the control he'd want. And getting rid of the Sony HQ and/or massive presence there is a cr

Sorry to be "that guy" but looking at the source, he uses JS just for changing scenes and sometimes for opacity (the latter of which can be done w/ CSS3) When I was referring to animations, I meant the actual transformation of the element/o

Correct me if I'm wrong (I may well be), but I was under the impression the JS aspects were used for things not implementable in CSS3/HTML5 spec? With the generated animations being done primarily in CSS3 (but maybe a JS fallback?) I'm havi

This actually looks quite awesome, which is a stretch for me considering my opinion of Adobe lately. I've always wanted to make a similar tool for JS animations, but never got around it.
