It hasn't been offically acknowledged by Apple, but I can confirm this doesn't work in the 4.2 beta as well. For obvious reasons, Apple prolly hoped this one would slip past everyone undetected until they pushed the next update out.

True, but nonetheless hilariously bad mistake. Really, this is only a security threat to your tech savvy gf/bf/friend/thief since it requires physical access. And you know what they say anyway: Law #3: If a bad guy has unrestricted physical

After I initially overreacted about it's simplicity, I saw the point more clearly. In fact, the more I think about it the more I loved it. (from your business's standpoint) Whenever I've been apart of interviewing candidates, ≈70% of the ti

Well to answer your question more directly, I'm 100% sure there are plenty of people who would enjoy you documenting it. Even if I didn't use it, I'd read it. Never underestimate our geekiness! I'm sure I'm not the only one who surfs Wikipe

I seriously had to double check this article wasn't posted on April 1st. What a strange logo. I understand the idea and like it, but it just looks...off.

You and me both brother. Some things I just don't get in OS X. Like the "zoom" button's inconsistent functionality. Hilarious that OS X Lion is going to change this button to go literally fullscreen now (without toolbars, desktop, etc) whic

I think for me it would be much like the Dvorak keyboard layout: It would save me so much time and I would love it, but I just can't unlearn something so deeply ingraved into me. I've tried, but it just turned out to be counter productive

Doesn't work in 3.6.4, even if you override install it or change the minVersion (which is 3.6.10) Once I upgraded to 3.6.10 worked awesome.

Here's another: you're searching on any keyup which creates lots of overhead. Google's implementation is more complex. It appears they search immediately as you type the first few characters on each keyup/down then if the word goes over a

Neato! Worked snappy for me. Kudos. Suggestion: It appears that the searches sometimes stacked up in queue if I typed fast. (i.e. if I typed a long sentence quick the results continued to flash different content many times, playing catch-up

+1 if by myself or w/ a buddy. But beers if it's a group hacking session. A group of us meet every Wednesday night and we rotate who comes up with the challenge of the night.

Great article. As an example, it's fairly obvious Apple is building up it's internal CPU engineering abilities to inevitably put an ARM in a Macbook. But I don't think it will be in the near future due to breaking compatibility with current

Missed that, thanks for the heads up! Now my only issue would be that the text-indent: -9999em method has been known to get you flagged for spam for obvious reasons. But I'm being facetious. I like to play devil's advocate. :o)
