This is not bullshit as other comments are saying. "Profit" in this sense is a means of personal cash flow. Once the shareholders (including the founders) have their personal cash flow needs taken care of, the focus shifts to long

I have a work calendar and a personal calendar. Both on google apps (but different domains). My personal calendar has two calendars. One is for things that impact my wife and we share it. Anything on my personal calendar that is during busi

I am about two years in to something similar. resaleAI.com Don't worry about keeping the vertical secret for competitive reasons. You either have the domain expertise to make it great or you don't. And anyone with the domain knowl

I switched from Windows to Linux in 2001, from Linux to Mac in 2004, and from Mac to Windows in 2016. The Surface is a great machine and Windows 10 is a good OS.

Spend at least one hour every day on sales. Starting now. Coding is the easy (and natural) part. In my experience, sales has been harder than I expected. Even when people love the product.

I thought that this old post may no longer be as relevant. Maybe we have made progress. Then I read the comments on this thread. :( We must do better.

That really does help. I am using private repos now and will shift them to an organization. However, I had not thought of storing password and keys in a repo. The sharing doesn't seem very granular, but it makes it easy to document and

Does this have easy support for some kind of sub-tenant setup? Following your example, let's say that most customers have multiple departments and that most tables have both a customer_id and a department_id. Oh, and this looks solid.

Active statements like that work really well. I agree with you, but as people building companies it is a choice to do what works or do what feels best to us.

I like area + line charts for this. The area fill is the comp period and the line is the current. One of my favorite ways to do this (that most charting packages struggle with) is to use an area full for last year, a solid line for this yea

Sometimes, going 50mph is slow, sometimes it will get you arrested. The position on the dial is completely irrelevant, and is thus noise. The gas gauge however has a permanent meaning. Empty is bad. The Tachometer is also useful if you ar

This is spot on. A KPI is not a number, but rather a number, a direction, and a target. Also, gauges are almost always a terrible visual indicator. Even car dashboards are starting to understand this. Fuel gauges are good, speedometers ar

Maybe at some pedantic level you can argue it is deceitful. It is common practice to use handwriting fonts to increase the response rate of mail. It is easy to discern that they are fonts. I just made it much harder to discern.

I ran for public office earlier this year and did this kind of thing. I used MyScriptFont to create 10 different fonts of my handwriting using a sharpie. Then I wrote a script that would randomize each letter. We used this to create "
