What job are you applying for, as a software engineer, that has an application that you fill out? Also, assuming you are in the US, they only ask about felonies, not misdemeanors. But, I can't remember, in my 20 years of experience, of

I've been in two raids at underground clubs in NYC. Wasn't SWAT, but it was vice and they barged in both times with shields, helmets and body armor. The second time, I had the unfortunate luck of walking out of the bathroom, rig

Because going to school is a legal requirement until a specific age. Going to the library or another public place is not. People shouldn't be afforded leeway because of their own ignorance. Not vaccinating your child is ignorant and

I was on 150mg a day (worked up to that from a low dosage). After awhile, I was getting these insane headaches, like stabbed in the brain with a rusty knife type headache. Those lasted a few weeks. And then came the brain shivers. Moving

I can relate to this. I took klonopin for 10+ years, just recently weaned myself off of it (six months and counting). My first panic attack happened about two weeks after 9/11 on the F train. Top 3 most terrifying moments of my life.

I do consulting work for clients back in NYC, though not as much as I used to. The bulk of my time is spent on my video editing app: https://vimeo.com/110889552 Yes, money goes very far here, but you are kind of getting wh

I'm doing this in Vietnam. Not necessarily by choice at this point (got married, having a kid, need to stay now). The FEI thing only applies if you are paying taxes in your "host" country. Thankfully, you can minimize the b

I live in Vietnam where scooters are the defacto mode of transport. I literally get headaches driving home during rush hour from sucking all that exhaust, though I've recently been able to find a good solid face mask (a Totobobo) that

What is almost certain, however, is that Cocoa, like Objective-C, is doomed. It's not as much a question of whether, but when. That was the part I was responding to.

Sure, I don't disagree. Though, look at QuickTime for example. That was deprecated in Mavericks, but it's going to be around for another few releases. AVFoundation (the framework I use the most) is used by FinalCut, iMovie, etc.

I like Matt, but I think he's wrong. Objective-C isn't going anywhere, just like C++ hasn't gone anywhere, nor has C left the building either. There are 124 public frameworks in the 10.10 sdk, 357 private ones. While a good
