I've been in two raids at underground clubs in NYC. Wasn't SWAT, but it was vice and they barged in both times with shields, helmets and body armor. The second time, I had the unfortunate luck of walking out of the bathroom, right next to the entrance, just as they were kicking the door in. It's not illegal to play at these places in NYC, so nothing really happens to you except for a lot of empty threats of something happening to you when they bring you into the back room to point out who the dealer and floor guy is. I remained silent both times, which annoyed the detectives, but they always let me go after about five minutes of silence. This was back in the heyday. Before I moved to Vietnam, I stopped going to the underground clubs because Parx Casino was about an hour or so away and had more fish.
