I'd like to give you some advice if you are ears. I'm the former CTO of Massify, which set out to do exactly what you are doing, and we did it to a certain extent: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/10/business/media/10massify.h... http://w

I suppose times have changed, but back in the 90's music software companies used to leak their software to groups to get cracked (this was back when Radium was the defacto group). In fact, #audiowarez used to be a 50/50 split between devs

Looking at your linkedin you do mostly contract work, so I'm not sure what you know exactly about what you are talking about? People churn through employment based on ambition, boredom and opportunity. In 20+ years I've never met someone w

Android still has a long way to go. I have the Nexus 7 (I should divulge I am an iOS/Cocoa developer) and I kind of like it, but it still has a cheap usability feel to it. The parallax is pretty obvious which translates into issues like l

I don't like that subclassing generally doesn't work. You can subclass PFObject no problem, but you lose it when you are doing a lot of PFQuery'ing. PFUser would be a prime candidate for subclassing but that really doesn't work without a

I'm not so sure about this. I'm writing a pretty complicated application using parse. It's been great so far. I've been a very vocal non-fan of their iOS SDK though, so much so that I'm actually dropping it in favor of a custom written jo

This is pure horse pucky. First of all PHP isn't about elegance and I find it a teeth grinding experience when people complain about it not being so. PHP is about getting stuff done. He doesn't offer one good valid technical reason why not

I haven't touched Delphi in over 15 years now I think, maybe longer. But I used to be a pretty heavy user of it until Borland went Inprise. Anyways, back when I was hot and heavy with it, I was writing audio and midi software, and I know m

Are you listening to yourself? Can you imagine a "smartphone" mobile platform without AAA game titles? I'm assuming they will have some sort of NDK? Neat project none the less!

Nice, been looking for a solution like this for quite some time. Excellent, well done too! USD prices might be good though.

If it's about higher request capacity, PHP scales horizontally with its share nothing, no application server architecture. I'm not advocating, just sayin'.

I do the standing thing at home, sit down when working at clients. The biggest thing I've noticed is that I'm less likely to dick around on reddit or hackernews if I'm standing, so it's been a boon to beating procrastination which I'm prone

Multi-volume is the biggest point I think. Almost everything you'd get on Usenet uses RAR, fwiw. I know Usenet is a dinosaur, but it's still a highly functioning one.

Why not export a struct with function pointers like everyone else? You should take a look at how VST plugins are implemented. You load the dlo, call a function passing in your own struct of application functions and get back a struct of pl
