I relax more on longer drives with ACC. I tend to drive faster, so slow drivers in the left lane drive me a bit batty. With ACC on, that tendency is blunted heavily, and I just roll along, making occasional adjustments. But my temperament

Been thinking about how to answer this. People search for new systems when their current system doesn't work. I am not shopping for a new system. I keep notes, wake early, do my thing, and record in Todoist the things I find myself avo

That’s my guess. I’m a Mac house but I have two gaming machines arriving Friday for some rendering projects. I really wanted to wait to see what Apple released, but I figure two things: I’m not traveling much in the next year, so I’ll have

My partner does this, but she just does it on her Google Calendar. It really works for her. My son uses it too, but he's a student. It's been really helpful for me that he manages his obligations this way because it's easy fo

Not ads, but I'd pay not to have ads. I don't mind paying for apps. I also want a one-recipient-only chat app. I don't want to open Messages and 1) have to choose the recipient, 2) risk sending something to the wrong recipie

I'm new to this, but from the link: > Our pilot partners have already started using this technology to build previously impossible new products and services; ones that truly benefit their users. So, users are not their users? Just a

My shortcut to text my partner is called “Yo” and sends a “Yo”. Use it all the time. She knows when I’m leaving a store, or swinging by the house to pick her up, or when we’re in a store and ready to meet at the checkout lanes. I think freq

There are dozens to hundreds of regulations governing the activities of retail establishments.. the requirement to enforce mask mandates is only one.

It’s not expensive to incorporate, but full time employment can’t really be paid to an EIN. You need to be a contractor or a vendor. Lots of people do it. Self employment comes with some risks, but if you own it, and convert your employment

I personally ponder the idea of de-FAANGing my life as much as possible. There's something distasteful about these very small number of global companies shaping so much of our human condition. I already dumped Facebook. I feel like I c

PPO with moderate deductibles. Are they doing individual or group plans? And sorry, this wasn’t SF proper, though when I managed a plan for 30+ employees in SF it was about $1500/per. That was high deductible with a roll-over HSA match

It’s not a requirement to offer health insurance in the US. If you make someone an offer and it doesn’t Include health insurance, and they accept, and the individual mandate isn’t enforced anymore, then theres no additional burden on the co

Trying to get everything on my Mac, GitHub and domain working with Jekyll and Hugo was harder than spinning up Wordpress. Caching is a solved problem on WP, not grokking the love for static site generators.

I'm not a gamer, either, but I might say that Space Quest was my one dip into games, and I played that a lot. That was a long time ago.

I tried obsidian but when it starts it doesn’t open a window. I posted to the forum and got a shrug. I try every once in a while thinking an update might fix it, but I obviously don’t know if I could use it even if it started working.

My observation: dissection conversation. People write paragraphs, someone takes an issue with a word or a sentence, and writes a divergent post on just that word/sentence. Then that post gets the same treatment by another participant..

I set up a routine for the words "Music Time" on my Alexa. Every day I say those words a few times. The hit rate on an accurate response is not above 90%. It's the only thing I use my Alexa for.
