I absolutely think GraphQL will be the way forward once it evolves a bit further but I have 2 immediate concerns with this: > As we've seen, we could attempt to use GraphQL to execute scripts, including conditional statements and ev

This is very neat looking and at some point I may give this a go to control Spotify. One concern I have though is with this running the LED light on camera is always going to be active (which is fine) but I then won't know if some othe

This website is a choreography of poor UX. starting with an easy to miss ‘continue reading’ button - purpose not clear and continuing with injected links and other distractions mid-article. I had to go through it twice before I actually got

Only related to ‘low-power’ AI I recently came across Ogma[1] And though the combination of online learning and something that works on a Raspberry Pi was fascinating. Surprised it’s not appeared on here before [1] https://ogma.a

With stuff like this being exfiltraded (let’s admit if hackers got this they prob could have a whole ton of fab secrets) it won’t be long until America’s IP is all in the hands of China/Russia/Europe. We will have confirmation whe

I think its a bad idea to hard-code anything like that. If you have to do it then accept it as a command-line argument or read it from a config file - at least then it can be backed-out with an application restart instead of a recompile.

I was in a situation where it went NOTICED for months but the managers were too scared to fire him (a contractor so should have been easy) because there was some 'HR mess-up' that they were very cagey with details on.

But the employer wanted a full-stack developer, everything else is just details! I’ve seen worse code than this. How about a hard coded backdoor check that looked like: || pw == “debug0”

I understand why but on the other hand, there is a sense these vaccines are being rushed and the obvious question is what corners have been cut (if any). The last thing we would need is for anti-vaxxers to have a genuine concern and this ra

I live in Europe and I never understood the in-network and out-of-network concept (I know what it is, I just see it is ripe for abuse). So I wonder, why hasn't Congress enacted legislation to put a ceiling on out-of-network charges to

Meh, author certainly has a point about K8s being overkill for 99.9% people out there. Unless you need to operate at a certain scale (that most people never will) then Kubernetes is like taking an F1 car onto a regular road. Recipe for pain

Well if AWS was the sole culprit then they could have spent time to migrate to a Hetzner or OVH. I think I read their revenues were 1500/mo - not nearly enough to pay for running costs and a single founder salary.
