I think the idea is that developers who are also gamers are probably going to fit a certain company culture. Personally, I like working with other developers who like games and good beer. I haven't had great experiences with the type who lo

Maybe the problem is that we think we're supposed to be serious. Writing code is fun, or at least it should be whenever possible.

I loved when he would post up interesting code snippets, but he would make them animated gifs so you actually had to type them in. And hoodwink.d was really fun while it lasted (it was kind of a secret club that you had to explore and figur

I'm the lead developer for Set For Marriage ( https://www.setformarriage.com ), and we've thought a LOT about these issues. We do charge people a subscription fee to be able to start conversations, but it does seem pretty unfair for people

It's probably just a hoop they make you jump through to make sure you're "serious" so that they can cut down on app approval times without hiring a bunch more reviewers.

Seems like this could be useful as an alternate API format. I'd like to see sites offering plist (bigger than JSON but dead simple parsing in Cocoa) and serialized formats as well as JSON and XML and all that.

If it's interesting to the community of hackers who hang out here, then yes it should hit the front page. Don't worry, in 10 years you'll have forgotten all about this.

I'm with you. I've always liked Klaypex (of Dubstep Guns fame) better than Skrillex, but I'm willing to give Skrillex another shot after this. Dubstep Guns: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDlif8Km4S4

You're better off using the full jQuery hosted at a common CDN, since it is likely to already be cached on the user's computer.

It really doesn't matter, if you use a version of jQuery that is likely to already be cached (like the ones hosted at Google Code).

I would also like to see the effect of East Indian names. My name isn't from India (it is from Thailand), but it is often mistaken for being Indian or Arabic.

I think the thing about turbolinks is you get a lot of the advantages of single-page apps but you can write it like a normal Rails app.

Hmm that doesn't seem to work with turbolinks. page:change works, but it fires on every change, not just when the body contains the event. I tried making a pageLoad() function on pages that need extra functionality and then putting the foll
