There are so many abandoned commercial buildings throughout some of the Boston suburbs. From what I understand, people keep the rents high to increase the value of the building so they can borrow against it, and leave the buildings unoccupi

I literally just use a giant text file for everything, with only a specialized vim macro for inserting the date.

I use Julia regularly for experimental machine learning. It’s great for writing high performance, distributed code and even easier than Python for this kind of work, since I can optimize the entire stack in a single language. Not sure if it

Really, really, really curious as to how they managed to pull this off, if their project works as well as they claim it does. If stuff as complex as paged/flash attention can "just work", this is really cool.

I get that a lot of people on HN won't like this, but I don't think FF really has a choice here. If they want to compete with mainstream browsers, they'll need to integrate the features they will support to avoid losing exi

On a first read, I agree with you, but if I was in that department I’d love that we still have a model T and that we get to drive it around, especially compared to the other work they must do

This seems like an incomplete story. From what I've heard, the costs of running X have also plummeted, and now it's turning a profit, right?

This is awesome to see. I’d love RISC-V to succeed on this platform, but I can’t imagine it will be competitive with x86 or ARM for a power user for quite a few years. Are there any plans to support ARM mainboards as well?

I agree that it’s protectionism, 100%. DJI seems to have been remarkably clean from what I understand with no reason to warrant a ban other than it’s Chinese. That being said, they have an insane lead in the market (rightfully earned). I do

Part of me wonders if this will make older employees more desirable- if lots of new grads are completely incompetent and incapable of learning, perhaps a selection bias may emerge in favor of older applicants

I’d love a car like a Framework laptop but for EVs. I’d love to strip out the junk I don’t need and fix/change things myself for much cheaper than a mechanic.

The question was aimed at a person with no charger at home who relied on a charger at work. I don’t have a home to charge at and don’t want to risk relying on a company
