Decriminalisation alone won't improve what you're talking about. But the idea usually is decriminalisation plus redirecting those freed up funds into policies for harm reduction, addiction treatment, injection rooms etc. Reframing

With the beans / lentis thing - your body does seem to adjust to this eventually. You can also try putting a few pieces of Kombu (seaweed) or Savory in with these dishes, I think there's a few other herbs and foods that help with

Hard to remember exactly. I was a vegetarian for around 10 years and vegan for 5 now. I think initially on environmental grounds and later as I learned more about factory farming ethical grounds as well. The omni to vegetarian transition wa

Yeah, the language itself has never really “clicked” for me, and I've tried a few times. It still feels cumbersome to write. The tooling, standard library and fast compile times are really great though. Maybe I'll revisit it.

We use this in our app, it's very US-heavy though I think. NSDataDetector can do a lot of cool stuff, very ugly API to use and is confusingly similar but not the same to what's available through dataDetectorTypes on a UITextView.

This is true but is it also the case with private health insurance? I've only ever been on public in Germany but others tell me it's much easier on private health insurance.

You don't even have to move I think you can likely get treatment through a private hospital on a tourist visa.

Won't the population issue take care of itself at some point and peak? We already see stagnant or decreasing populations in developed countries.

In a lot of the modern startups that's definitely the case, as a contractor I've come across some questionable "Denglisch" codebases a few times though.

Very cool, I only made it to $50/mo before hitting a dead end on one of my apps. I hope the next one I can reach $100/mo. Despite all the (warranted) criticism of the AppStore I still find it pretty easy to get a consumer app into

I never understand this idea of picking an arbitrary set of language features and saying, “what if your code logic was simple functions and a bunch of if statements”. The complexity won't magically go away, it'll just appear in a

Yeah iOS is one thing as you can generally wait it out as Apple is pretty aggressive about upgrades there but on macOS I think this limitation has really killed it's viability, people just don't update their desktop OS.

Sorry, I'm kind of hijacking this comment. Honest question, would Australia actually need nuclear? The whole continent looks like it could become a renewable powerhouse for wind/solar/hydro, there's also quite a lot of l

That's a good analogy, there are some pieces of software that are used by so many people that there's always room for a slightly different spin on it. Look at notes apps for example.
