It’s because it’s an easier and more comfortable place to be. You don’t have to do anything if you don’t have a horse in the race. Changing habits, educating yourself, demonstrating, joining a party etc. all take time and effort. It’s a lot

Without sounding elitist I think number 3 is a big one. If you once learn how, writing decently performing software is often straightforward without taking any extra labour.

This reads like propaganda in itself, I would have enjoyed something more balanced.

I think the original poster was aware that it’s a different crime and was attempting to simplify the concept so you were able to grasp it a little easier.

Cross platform toolkits, more than other software components incur massive tradeoffs. They’ve written one themselves, tailored to their needs and open sourced it along the way. I guess I don’t see the problem here. If one that’s existed for

Carpentry isn’t woven into everyday life and professions in the same way maths is so I’m not sure I agree. But yes the article itself does a bad job.

So only mathematicians use math to explain concepts? The actual example in the article isn’t that great but my point is generally it’s a valid way to explain or demonstrate something. That’s part of the reason we learn it.

We use math in all kinds of professions and in everyday life, it's a perfectly valid way of explaining the concept I think.

Apparently the city was outsourcing to prefab firms outside of SF and many of the projects had safety violations that couldn’t be inspected because everything was already put together on arrival.

I'm glad it was straightforward for you. I've gone for a number of temporary visas and had mixed experiences. I was in a very similar situation on my last visit and was, like your wife recommended to go straight for permanent resi

Have you gone through the process? The system wasn’t “designed” at all, it’s completely broken and chaotic. It is 100% the fault of this system and not that of the immigrants going through it. Some of the people involved can also be extreme

Mobile apps can be very profitable, I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers/info from. Profitable mobile apps are typically B2C which is challenging. B2B SaaS can be easier to sell, especially for one person and would
