I guess a lot of software engineers will continue to move aboard. Next door Poland got generous visa schema and hungry for tech talent with low cost of living. Salaries are getting close to Western countries. 1. If you are from Belarus you

One day you can start calculating private keys based on public keys. This is the biggest crypto puzzle: find private key of Sathoshi Bitcoin wallet with 1 mln bitcoins. Over $50 Bln prize for one crypto puzzle. This would be AlphaGo moment

I wonder how well this could work as performance optimization. When you do some data crunching you can offload some work to lambda. Theoretically, bringing execution closer to data brings more efficiency. Though AWS Lamba was very expensive

LZ4 is not going to help, if you already have compressed data. For image, video and audio there are more efficient compressions taking advantage of those formats.

LZ4 is so fast, that in make sense to use it everywhere over uncompressed data. Even storing items in-memory compressed sometimes is profitable as you can fit more items in memory. Still zstd offers way better compression and got variable d

1. Early adopters pays premium. Especially true for technology that gets exponential cheaper. Rich countries such as Germany, Denmark and California pay R&D for rest of us. 2. If not renewables or other form of non-fossil fuel, the pric

Startups need early adopters who value potential and future vision. Innovators and early adopter look beyond your current offering. The challange is finding equivalent of early adopters for commodity markets such as electrical energy. That

I'm not sure who is benefitting those mega managers other than executives or shareholders. We need to find a way to discourage mega-mergers. Either through antitrust law or progressive taxation on mega mergers starting at few $1Bln. 1.

In terms of rollout. UK is the ideal country to be the first: 1. Heavily impacted by Covid-19. 2. Centralised health care system makes it easier to compare results and efficiency. E.g. it's UK which figured out that dexamethasone is ef

Hard to guess. Likely worth investigating, but as secondary priority: 1. You may end up just getting very short and weak immunity, making this approach ineffective. 2. You may get a combination of immunity which can have different efficienc
